Ladies who have had a C-Section...

I'm 19+3 and I've been told I'll be having a C-Section.

I was just wondering when I can expect my date to be booked in & how far along I'll be (ofc you won't know that but would like to know roughly and haven't asked).

So, how soon did you get booked in for your scheduled C-Section and how far along were you when you had it?

I had sections with both. Type 1 diabetic, in my 40s and very large (over 10lbs at 37 weeks). I think we set date around 32-34 weeks and was scheduled for 38 weeks but waters broke at 37. Second same reason had her at 38 weeks.

It must just really vary from hospital to hospital as I've had my 2nd c-section booked in since my 12 week scan! My first was booked in around the 20 week mark. Both done/due to be done at 39 weeks. If you've had major abdominal surgery before then I'm sure you will find it a relatively easy recovery, I was up and about same day and home the next day.

I’ve got an appointment with the consultant at 35 weeks to book mine. I’ve been told it will be at 39 weeks. I’ll turn 39 weeks on a Sunday, has any ever been booked for an elcs on a Sunday before?

At 36 weeks I was advised it would be 39 weeks. I was due on a Saturday so I had the section at 38+6

I have had two planned due to high risk reasons. With my first it was just around 37 weeks. Second time I wanted a specific anaesthetist who knew and understood my medical history and they were on holiday until I would be nearly 39 weeks as I lived near the hospital and I promised any twinges I would go in!
I got to choose the dates for my DC birthdays :)

My first was at 38+5, they had tried to turn her the day before (breech) and so just wanted her out safely. My 2nd was agreed really early on, but didn’t get a date until about 36 weeks - was scheduled for 39+5 which worried me as I thought they were cutting it fine, and I was right as I went into labour at 39+4 and so it turned into a semi emergency section - both were great!
Best wishes 👍🏻

I had a c-section on the 20th. I wasn't given my date until 6 days before but that's because the first consultant I spoke to wanted me to deliver vaginally. The second agreed that my concerns were legitimate and booked me in. The procedure was really straight forward and I was able to have skin to skin in theatre. I would have been discharged by the following day but DS was struggling to BF (a whole other story). I've had very little pain from my incision but did develop cellulitis. This was spotted when I was back in hospital for weight loss in DS and they put me on antibiotics felt fine the whole time though.

I was booked in for 39 weeks exactly as it very rare they will section before this time, however baby had other ideas and I ended up having my section this Tuesday at 37 week exactly x

Have you looked at the spinning babies website? That will give you some tips to try to get baby into a head down (or a breach!) position!!
