Pregnant immediately after miscarriage

I had a miscarriage on 30th October. I took a pregnancy test three weeks after, as advised by EPU, to make sure there was nothing retained and that was negative. A few days ago I took an OPK (to see if I could work out what to expect for my cycle) and a pregnancy test (because it was there) and the OPK was negative but there was a faint line on the pregnancy test. I've taken another today and it's definitely positive. So I can only assume that I am pregnant.

I haven't had a period since the miscarriage so I've no idea how to go about dating it. Or who I should speak to about possible risks with a pregnancy so soon after miscarriage.

Has anyone else been in this position?

Hello
I was in your position 12 years ago. I miscarried on the 28th November and didn’t have a period between then and my bfp on 9th January. My son is now a very healthy and intelligent 12 year old.
My doctor said they like you to have a period in between but it’s down to the individual and it wasn’t a problem that I didn’t.
Congratulations 🥳 x

I had a scan to date the pregnancy but I roughly conceived around the 15th of the month. 3 of my children are born on the 18th of the month and 1 on the 19th (at 12.06am) so it was as if the miscarriage was my period although I was 9 weeks when I miscarried x

I conceived my first after a missed miscarriage that was surgically managed. The hospital called me a few weeks later to say the histology tests on what they removed from me didn't show embryonic cells and asked me to do a pregnancy test. It was positive, so they scanned me thinking material had been left behind and actually it was a very early (4.5 week approx) new pregnancy. All my dating was done via early scans - I had a history of multiple miscarriages, so was scanned regularly in EPAU until 10 weeks.

As it's off the back of a miscarriage and EPU were involved for you, you could ask them to scan you to double check that it's a new and viable pregnancy. You could date it that way. Or book a private scan if you prefer.
