Mud and cuts, I'm being insane, yeah?

It's been a while since I last had a panic, though I was almost doing ok.

Last night me and a group of friends went to a Xmas wreath making class.

Once we got there, I realised we were using real folidge/moss and Holly etc to make them.
The moss was covered in mud and insects and by the time we left (2 hours later) i was covered in mud and the ivy had cut my hands and I was bleeding. Obviously I have washed my hands thousands of times since and showered. but I still had mud stains in my finger prints lines (no idea what the technical term is lol)

Now I'm panicking that the mud got in open wounds and I have put myself at risk of toxoplasmosis, or the dirt that wouldn't wash off, even though IV given myself the start of dermititis from over washing last night, might have been injested when eating today.

I'm being a bit over the top aren't I? Trying to remind myself that just because theirs mud doesn't mean there's cat poo. But I am so anxious and really thought I was getting over my anxiety.

My midwife refuses to test for it unless any future scans show issues, but I'm not due anymore scans now as IV had my 20 week.
Is there anyway of privatly requesting a test if NHS are willing to do it?

Sorry for the insane rant

Totally OTT reaction but I can understand why. I'm certain you will be fine...

I think the Tommy's info on toxoplasmosis seems pretty comprehensive and it might help explain the midwife's stance: www.tommys.org/pregnancy-information/pregnancy-complications/infections-pregnancy/toxoplasmosis-pregnancy

Take it easy. I think a lot of the pregnancy advice we are given is quite anxiety-provoking in itself, and sometimes causes more trouble than it's worth (e.g. don't eat prepacked sandwiches/hummus in case of listeria, when your yearly chance of catching listeria in the UK is approx 0.0000030303%. (assuming 200 listeriosis cases and a population of 66 million).

I agree - totally ott
But if you want you can definitely pay for a private test and also find out if you've already had it and are now immune.
I got a private test because just before I found out I was pregnant I got exposed to quite a bit of cat poop and showed some signs of toxo - the tests came back negative so even in this case I didn't catch it. Cost just above £110 for a private GP appointment and the test, but that's London prices.

Totally OTT
I carried on mucking out horses and was covered in mud and cuts tight up to my due date, and shared a home with 3 cats and a flock of chickens. The risks are miniscule.

More harm is likely to come to you next time you get in a car.

Thanks, im going to try and forget about it and move on.
Really I know I'm being completely ott. But since being pregnant anxiety has been an issue for me, never has been before. And anything I can't disprove to myself seems to become a big issue.

Wouldn't be so bad, but my wreath also looks like a 5 year old made it 😂
