Should I call midwife assessment?

I'm a bit or a worrier, but today something just doesn't feel right.

I'm 24w+3, I felt ok this morning and last night. But now I just feel a bit, not right. I'm sitting sweating at work, and everyone else is telling me they are cool and the room isn't hot, I'm usually a cold person but now I'm roasting. My bump is a little sore to touch right at the top, and at the sides. To be fair it feels like it's really swollen at the sides, almost like ready to burst! I felt a little bit dizzy for a moment this morning which I only just thought about now I have other random symptoms.

I have started to feel sick, but think it's just because I'm working myself up. And now I've thought about it, I'm not sure that I've felt baby move today yet, and she usually would have. Is it worth a call to the midwife?

Anything is worth a call... Even if its to put your mind at ease if you don't feel rite then it's worth getting checked out or you could call and they could say it's nothing to worry about but it's better to check x

I would call triage and go in to see them. You need to tell your work you are leaving now asap as you need to get to the midwife. Fingers crossed everything is okay, it might be that your baby is just turning around and pushing out against the sides which would explain the swelling feeling. Mine used to push her bum up under my ribs which would cause pain and a huge lump there. Good luck!

Thank you both. I left my work almost immediately after writing this ad realised it was stupid waiting around. I also called maternity assessment. They think I might have a viral infection type think hence the sweating etc.

I've to go home and have something to eat and a sugary drink and lie for a bit and concentrate on movement, if I don't feel anything I've to call back.

I'm guessing if I feel movement I'll deal with the sweating etc and put it down to viral and hope it passed quickly xx

I don't want to give advice because everyone is different so this doesn't apply as such to you because it may be something different but around the time I was 24/25 weeks I was constantly going hot sweating and feeling dizzy. My BP has always been alrite as well as everything else so I put it down to a surge or hormones or something it soon passed. But it's good you have gotten advise from midwife x

How are you doing, OP?

nicannie · 26/11/2019 20:17

@crazymuseummumtobe a lot better. I had 3 hours sleep once I got home (by accident!) and it definitely did me the world of good. Not long had dinner and just settling down for the night.

Probably be ok for work in the morning, and since I woke up and after dinner baby has been back to her usual self active and kicking around so that's good news. Thank you for checking in x
