Hey,

So Im 39 weeks and have woke up to period pains at first I thought I was just uncomfy but it's defo period pains. I know this is what contractions are supposed to feel like but the pain is very dull and I feel it low down. I can't feel my stomache tightening and it's mainly in my back. The feeling is making me feel a bit sick. Is this early labour or just bh? Its not too intense so I don't think it's full blown labour but it feel more than just bh

How are you doing?

LolaLollypop · 25/11/2019 13:50

I reckon you're in labour! Exactly how mine started at 39+3. I had my first period pain (very mild) on Saturday morning. Gave birth to my daughter 5am Monday morning. Only went into hospital at 10pm Sunday night so was able to manage for a day beforehand.

Make sure you rest and get some good food into you. You may need it! Good luck Smile

Any news??!

Meanroda · 26/11/2019 00:53

I've been into hospital, I was 2cm dilated and got a sweep and some pain meds. I'm back home but my contractions are still not as often for full labour 😭 but I have managed to get 40ish mins sleep, which was nice

I had this for 8 days and then had a c section 6 days overdue Blush fingers crossed things get moving for you!!

Meanroda · 26/11/2019 12:21

Oh no @TrixieFranklin, I really hope that's not the case but I guess anything to get little man here and safe. I'm just back from hospital again I havnt slept so they have given me some codeine still no full labour

Tweak, stroke and pull at your nipples for about 20 mins....

Snowflake9 · 26/11/2019 14:11

Trust me. When my labour slowed down, I went into the bathroom and did this and the contractions got stronger and progressed

Meanroda · 26/11/2019 15:43

I feel guilty for wishing this but I wish they would just cut the baby out me. I cant do this for days on end. I have never been so exhausted in my life and I'm worried by the time he is here I won't have the energy to give him all the cuddles and love he needs

OP posts:
Snowflake9 · 26/11/2019 15:52

You can do this, you are strong. Are you able to eat? Is the codiene helping at all?

Meanroda · 26/11/2019 16:15

I'm trying to eat but I'm bringing it back up, the contractions are making me sick. And the codeine only works effectively for me for about an hour, it kind of dulls the pain of contractions but I still have them

@meanroda there's all the chance that you are dilating more and more and will be admitted next time you go in and are in established labour! You can do this Grin

Have you got a tens machine? I found that really helped this stage of labour.

Don't worry too much about eating if it's making you sick. Nibble on things you fancy or send your OH out for some sweets or lollypops so you get a bit of energy and stay hydrated.

When the pain gets too unbearable to post on here, get yourself up to the hospital for another check up.

You'll be meeting your little one very soon. Good luck!

nibdedibble · 26/11/2019 16:48

Sick is a good sign that labour's progressing.
(Hopefully!!)

Starlight456 · 26/11/2019 16:53

Good luck op.

gumdrop2 · 26/11/2019 17:38

Hi op I've heard before that being sick in labour helps the baby move down even more in to the birth canal no idea if it's complete crap but hopefully it works and it's not to long now x

Snowflake9 · 26/11/2019 18:55

Being sick is good, it's your body going into fight or flight mode and clearing itself of things it doesn't need so if can focus on labour.

All the best OP. Sending you love.

ShopoholicIn · 26/11/2019 20:04

Op hope you are doing ok. I guess you are in active labour and in hospital... be strong xxx

PurestGreenMLord · 26/11/2019 20:23

That was the sort of pain I felt during the daytime before I rang the hospital. It's horrid when it's in your back like that. Fingers crossed you've had your baby now.

ladydoris · 27/11/2019 02:08

Hope everything went well.

ballyboy · 27/11/2019 18:41

Any news OP?

Meanroda · 01/12/2019 08:20

Thanks for everyone's support. Labour kept on progressing and then becoming irregular again eventually waters broke and was induced on thursday afternoon. Baby became upset during induction and I had to have a Cs. Myself and baby already have an amazing connection and he is perfectly healthy Smile
