Reduces movement or am I just paranoid?

I’ve been asleep most of the day as I’m shattered, but I last tenner baby moving at around 11/12 this morning. I was then asleep until 2pm ish. I don’t think I’ve felt her move since then, she may have while I’ve been doing. Other things and I haven’t noticed but I haven’t actually stopped and thought about her moving which when she’s having an active period is quite an obvious time.

I’ve just had a bath to see if I can get a wriggle out of her, nothing so far. I led on my bed and watch my tummy and I think I saw some little waves like she was moving around but I couldn’t feel anything and now I’m starting to worry. I’ve got a bad gut feeling but I also don’t want to seen as dramatic if it’s just she’s asleep and I’ve been asleep while she’s been active.

What do I do? :(

How far are you? You need to ring triage get checked probably nothing but best to check c

hazandduck · 23/11/2019 21:59

Listen to your gut. Phone the ward number on your pregnancy notes and go and get checked. How many weeks are you? You aren’t wasting anyone’s time. It could be as simple as the placenta has moved so movements aren’t as strong, it could be a sign that maybe something is up and needs to be looked in to, always best to be checked over rather than worry. X

Ohilovedinosaurs · 23/11/2019 21:59

Contact your midwife to check.

Yamaya · 23/11/2019 21:59

Cold glass of water and lay on your side?

Gruzinkerbell1 · 23/11/2019 22:00

Ring your MW triage. Immediately. So much better to be safe than sorry. You won’t be wasting anyone’s time, it’s what they’re there for.

Ellapaella · 23/11/2019 22:00

If you are in any doubt at all then ring your pregnancy assessment unit and I'm sure they'll tell you to go in and get checked out.
I've had 3 dc and went in a few times with each after not feeling much movement, everything fine on all occasions but they told me it was right to go and get checked.

DerbyshireGirly · 23/11/2019 22:01

Get it checked OP.

Yamaya · 23/11/2019 22:01

Definitely ring and get checked out. I went about three times in my last pregnancy - they were always happy to check me and nothing be wrong

Gustavo1 · 23/11/2019 22:02

This has happened to me twice in the last couple of weeks. Am 38 weeks now so the movements are very obvious. Both times, I’ve put a 15minute limit on it, eaten something sweet and had a cold drink and lain down in real quiet. Thankfully, both times I’ve had enough movement in those moments to reassure me.
If you don’t feel movements, call the assessment unit at your hospital. Don’t worry about wasting time. If you get in the car and the big kicks return, call back and cancel. Better to get these things checked.

BarbarAnna · 23/11/2019 22:03

Just go get checked. I am not sure they give the drink this, lie this way anymore (no offence) so just head in and get checked, assuming you are over 24 weeks.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 23/11/2019 22:05

If you ring whatever number you have for this time of night, they will probably tell you to drink 2 pints of cold water and eat something sugary, then lie down on your left side for half an hour. So you could do that before you ring, or do it and then ring while you’re lying down to check with them.

If in any doubt (especially if you’ve done the above), then ask for professional help.

SexlessBoulderBelly · 23/11/2019 22:11

32+1, I saw the midwife yesterday and she listening to her heart rate and all was fine.

Led in bed with DP now and felt two little kicks so not sure whether to ring or not. My hospital is 45 minutes away from us

Ring your maternity unit, they will tell you exactly what to do. Don't take any chances please.

SexlessBoulderBelly · 23/11/2019 22:18

Just drank a big glass of cold water and got one big kick. Maybe she’s just sleeping? Maybe I should wait and se if she has an active period like she does most of time in an hour or so. If not I’ll call.

You should ring.
They say to ring if movements stop or 'change'
If they've become softer and less frequent then its worth getting checked.
Even if you travel all that way and there is nothing wrong - it's always worth it

hazandduck · 23/11/2019 22:20

If the movements have changed you definitely should report it. Not trying to worry you but it is what all the literature advises you, always get checked. 45 mins is nothing for the peace of mind of knowing all is ok.

bobble53 · 23/11/2019 22:20

Play baby a song on your phone and rest it on your belly. X

Weatherwaxed · 23/11/2019 22:23

Having spent the day at a conference where one presentation was on reducing stillbirths, you need to ring your hospital and get checked out.
All reduced movements need to be checked. If there is a problem they can look at treatment. If there isn't a problem you'll have peace of mind.
Never wait till morning. If the baby is poorly they might deteriorate overnight. Just ring your hospital now.

snoopy18 · 23/11/2019 22:24

Definately get on the phone to triage - it isn’t worth the risk.

Many women who report reduce movement go on to give still births. I’m not saying that to panic you but it’s the truth of it & I had multiple episodes in my pregnancy & was induced at 37 weeks and 6 days. Each time I went in the doc stressed how important it is to get checked if there’s any change in movement.

You know your baby patterns better than anyone so so what’s best for you and baby.

Do not leave it.

Weatherwaxed · 23/11/2019 22:24

Check out mama academy and kicks count if you want more official advice.

Nixen · 23/11/2019 22:26

Glass of cold water, something sugary and lie on your left. If you haven’t felt movement in 30 mins phone triage and then head in to be checked. Not worth taking a risk!

Nixen · 23/11/2019 22:27

Actually in all honestly I’d head in anyway.. always better safe than sorry

Scbchl · 23/11/2019 22:28

Eat something sweet and something like a coke Sunlay on your side and play some music

If you are concerned then go get checked and never second guess yourself.

nespressowoo · 23/11/2019 22:29

I might get flamed for this but shine a torch on your belly. I did this unintentionally, the light on my phone was on, I held it close for some reason and DS did not appreciate it.

dontlickthelamp · 23/11/2019 22:29

Definitely get checked, it’s better safe than sorry
