Hi everyone, I found out a couple of weeks ago that I’m pregnant. It’s my first pregnancy so I don’t really know what to expect.
Does anyone have any good book recommendations that will help me prepare for the next few months?
TIA

Congratulations!

I read 'First Time Parent' which I really enjoyed and found quite helpful. It's not as condescending as some can be!

The positive birth book by Milli Hill. Enjoy it!

Expecting Better.

Also Google for Cochrane reviews and the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists green top guidelines if you want any information that's not extremely vague/out of date. NICE guidelines are also readily available online.

whattoexpect.com has most of the info in What To Expect When You're Expecting but freely available.

tommys.org is also decent.

What No One Tells You by Alexandra Sacks is decent on the psychological impact of pregnancy (particularly first pregnancy) and has some good advice for dealing with common dilemmas, such as when to tell work, etc.

I second Milli Hill's book (the positive birth book) - read it when I was first expecting (now 26 weeks!) and think it's brilliant. I am now starting to do my visual birth plan as described in the book :)

Highly recommend pregnancy for men. I also have how to grow a baby and push it out and actually prefer my OH's book 😂
