I've had an awful first few months of pregnancy the only time I wasn't sick was if I was eating all carbs as well I was 12 stone at my booking appointment at 5,7 that is over weight I weighed myself 2 weeks ago and I was 14 1/2 stone I'm horrified and now terrified of harming my baby I've read it can increase still birth.
Since then I have been very careful but not on a diet and being more active I weighed my self this morning and I have gained another 3 pounds can someone please advise me of how to lose a little bit without harming the baby I'm so scared.

Op just focus on a clean diet, not restricting calories.....cut out sugar, and eat your 7 a day, with modest meat and plenty of fish, and small amounts of carbs.
Eat lots of variety fror nutrients, seed, nuts, fruits, legumes, and stop the empty foods, ie crips and cake.....you will find a happy medium.

Please don't miss meals as you need nutrition

It's high bmi at booking in that flags up a risk, not weight gained in pregnancy. I got absolutely fucking massive with my second, like at least 5 stone and it wasn't mentioned once, they just like to know your weight at 38 weeks incase you need anesthesia etc.

I have been eating great past two weeks and still gained I just need to keep going thank you all I feel a bit better nowSmile

that is the guidance but so is a lot of shit they tell you in pregnancy which is BS. I don't need to research, I was overweight at booking myself so know.

@OlderthenYoungerNow och aye, so you're a consultant obstetrician now are you? Oh, wait, nope - you're basing this great revelation on your own perception of your experience. THAT'S NOT HOW SCIENCE WORKS!

Also untrue I'm afraid - high weight gain puts you at greater risk for pre-eclampsia, gestational diabetes and a complex labour. It can sometimes be missed however, as the NHS no longer routinely monitors weight gain as women (understandably) can find being weighed upsetting.

How do you know what job I do? Also, I was saying I didn't need to research the advice because I was given the advice recently myself. Not that I know better than those advising me. Reading comprehensive not your strong point, mate?

I had hospital today for scan and brought weight up with midwife she said not to worry and to just continue now with the healthy eating and being active will get screening for diabetes at next midwife appointment.

Because a consultant obstetrician (or indeed anyone well-educated) would not have said "I don't need to research" Grin

You told me to research the advice given to obese mothers. I know the advice as I was obese on booking in last time I was pregnant so my saying I don't need to research it is perfectly valid 🤔 get it now?
