Baby Monitor

Hi,

Can anyone recommend a good quality baby monitor which has a portable screen and also can used and viewed through a phone/tablet app.

Basically my husband works away and he would like to be able to check up and see our little one whilst he's away.

Iv looked at a few but the reviews have been poor.

I was hoping for one that can be rotated or controlled remotely.

Thank you ☺️

BT video monitor. Expensive but brilliant

*should add, this one doesn’t connect to a phone - sorry! 😳

We have a Motorola one, it cost about £100.00 and had mixed reviews when we bought it but four years on its still working fine despite the parent unit and the camera getting knocked on the floor multiple times. It has really long cables as well which enables us to have the camera on top of the wardrobe now that DS is four (he often gets up in the middle of the night to play hence I'm still using it!).

You may need two. The type of ‘baby monitor’ your DP needs is basically a glorified security camera. You can often get these really cheaply from Amazon (get a trusted brand) and they should have the ability to view baby on screen.

For your use and peace of mind I would recommend a sensor matt baby monitor (eg Angelcare). You can get ones with or without video but they are really helpful when you need to be away from the baby. The sensor mat monitors work on movement and will activate if no movement is sensed in 20s.

Hi - we use a Hive security camera, which can be accessed and watched on your phone from anywhere in the world, and also has the benefit that when the motion is triggered it makes a little recording that you can watch (and download) up to 24 hours later without needing to pay any kind of subscription. This has been the source of many cute and funny videos of my daughter's night time antics, (such as the first time she sat up on her own, which she did in her sleep and was then very confused about how she got there!) which I now have saved in my phone forever :)

You can't control the angle of the camera remotely, but you can have 2-way conversations through it and the quality of the video is also good enough that you can mount the camera in the corner of the room and zoom in and move around the image if necessary

Second the BT monitor, it's brilliant.

We had a Motorola one but the sound kept going off. Poor DS was screaming and we didn't realise until we looked at the screen by chance.
