Can anyone help?? I'm about 7/8 weeks pregnant and have never felt more dreadful. I am absolutely exhausted and feel constantly sick ... My son is 7 years old and I don't remember feeling this way with him. Any advice on what I can do to get rid of this feeling?

Thanks
Claire

go straight to the due may 05 thread, we're all suffering there, join us. At least you won't be miserable alone, we might even make you smile

I felt exactly the same with ds. I felt dreadful for the first three months. I didn't just have morning sickness, it lasted all day and it was horrible. I was constantly tired as well. Unfortunately there is not much you can do but you will start to feel better in a few weeks. If it's any consolation, my doctor told me at the time that the worse your symptoms are, the stronger the pregnancy is! Try also eating small regular amounts even if you don't really feel like it. Ginger can help with the sickness. Hope you start to feel better soon

Oh yes, all too familiar, sick around the clock from week 5 to week 16, just about emerging into the daylight now at week 18. Though things did start to get easier, except in the evenings from week 12.

Definitely recommend eating little and often - crackers, crisps and potatoes were my diet! And bedtime was 8.30pm for weeks on end. Plus afternoon naps at the weekend.

Congratulations on the pregnancy - it does get better eventually!

Really sorry you feel so bad. I was just the same with DD, from about 5 weeks to 16 weeks. It then completely disappeared overnight. I ate small meals often, but TBH I didn't find anything to stop it. Just try and take things easy if you can a bit.

Oh, and dont visit the Carribean in red hot heat - makes the sickness even worse!!!

Pidge - crisps were one of only things I could eat too. At work I used to have crisp sandwiches for lunch!

Carbohydrate is def the best thing to try and eat as everyone has said, and little and often. I think I lived on rice krispies!

It's a nightmare I know but it will soon be gone and before you know it you'll have a lovely little bundle - ooooh, lucky you

My best friend had terrible morning sickness and acupuncture really helped her - don't know if that's worth trying. I'm finding that acupuncture can be useful for most things.....

Thank you all!!!! I was beginning to think things were not quite right. Just been in a 2 hour meeting, and nearly dropped off. I don't think anybody noticed though. I'm the same with the crips thing. They seem to be the only thing I fancy and can eat without feeling awful, and I've got plenty of crackers at home and cheese (which I also seem to be liking a lot. Glad I'm not the only one who experiences these awful feelings, and, although I'd love to, not planning on going to the Caribbean in the near future!

The only thing that makes me feel slightly more human is Lucozade. My GP had recommended it to me during my last pregnancy and I had forgotten about it again. DH got tired of listening to me moaning about my ms and arrived home with several litres of it!
