I started on the Gaviscon last night. It says on the bottle it is suitable for preggy and breastfeeding women. My SIL has been asking me for weeks if I'm on the gaviscon yet saying if I'm not now, I will be soon (the voice of experience). She says all the mums she know went to the docs to get giant bottles of Gaviscon on prescription in the latter part of pregnancy.

Anyone know if Remegel are ok? I find everyhting else to chalky, so far it's not been too bad but I'd like to have some in for when I need it if I can.

Forgot about remegel... would be good to know. Thanks for suggestions so far. Any 'natural' rememdies other than mint tea? As can't get to shops yet and am waiting for it to start again!

Arghhhh!!! Heartburn!!! The absolute bane of my life at the moment, as soon as I lie down on the sofa at night, that is it, I am eating rennies like chocolate buttons. Had enough!!

Rennies and Gaviscon are fine btw!

I lived on mint tea, ginger tea and Remagel during the last few weeks both times. The mintt ea needs to be very minty - I used bought mint tea bags, then a big sprig of fresh mint too. For ginger tea, I used to grate fresh ginger and soak it in boiling water, then strain the liquid off and add a few spoonfuls to ordinary tea. Delicious - and excellent for morning sickness as well.

Jbck / Naboo Remegel are fine. i ate tons of them - i couldnt stomach the other ones either - they are far too chalky.

I've got Gaviscon advance from the doc but i have to say it's about double the thickness of ordinary Gaviscon!! Not sure that i like it tbh, but as Sod's Law would have it, since being given a massive bottle of it, i've hardly had heartburn!!

My dr gave me Maalox (mint liquid, not the lemon maalox plus) as renee and gavison were not touching it with me - it was amazing. You can buy it over the counter in a pharmacy no problem. I took it from about 26 weeks onwards every day several times a day if needs be.

Gaviscon tablets are fine as well as the liquid. I've bought so many of the damn things in the past few weeks - aaargh.

Cheers Choufleur, not been bothered all weekend & went for a lovely Indian on Saturday but was not too bad at all.
