Hi
I suffer with IBS and am 5 weeks pregnant. Does anyone have experience with taking enterosgel for loose bowels in pregnancy? It says on their website its safe but i am a bit worried and not seeing midwife till im 8 weeks pregnant and still dont think she will be able to advice me. I asked GP and he wasnt sure either. Thank you

You need to ask a pharmacist. They can call the drug company for you

I spoke to my GP in early pregnancy about IBS as it wasn’t fun. He said there is nothing available that I could take safely for this so I would be very wary.

I contacted the company and they claim it is safe in pregnancy. I will speak to midwife when i see her in a few weeks. They are saying it is drug free so is ok. Just wondered if anyone has used it in pregnancy.

@susie12345 do you have an update on this? I’m struggling with my IBS-D during early pregnancy and took Enterosgel before I knew I was expecting. I have also read the leaflets and looked online which says it’s safe but wondered what your midwife said? I’m only 6 weeks at the moment so will be a while before I see a midwife I think. Thanks

@AlisonRG hi i didnt speak to midwife in the end as my ibs improved around 8 weeks and i havent needed to use anything for a long time now. I emailed the company and they said it is safe in pregnancy and drug free. I only took it for a week i think because my ibs improved. Hope yours improves too :) it often does during pregnancy x
