I’m only 16 weeks pregnant but cannot wait for this baby to be here! It’s partly excitement at finally getting to meet her, but also that I will be so relieved to know that she’s healthy and that everything is ok. Plus I’m not particularly enjoying being pregnant, even though I’ve been feeling less sick and tired recently.

How do you deal with the wait - I know I should just embrace and enjoy this special time, but I’m so impatient!

Oh me, @tacosplease! I'm 34 weeks and just can't wait to meet my little girl. I started sorting clothes and nappies and things at the weekend and I just got so excited!

I think finishing up work will help time go quicker - it's dragging because I'm tired and losing motivation to be productive. Two more weeks . . .

Enjoy the second trimester - I felt best physically around this time so make the most of it!

CroissantsAtDawn · 18/11/2019 09:52

I was so impatient with DC1. I remember moaning to my mum that we'd decided to have a baby and we were ready now so it was so annoying to wait 9 months Blush. She said 9 months were good to prepare yourself for the total change to your life.

The 9 months didn't help me prepare, just made me feel rubbish (I had an awful pregnancy) but it is what it is.

I have no advice for how to be patient, but do try to spend some time on yourself. Do what makes you happy.

meandmyboyz · 18/11/2019 10:00

Me !!! I'm on final count down 15 days till induction but I've had gestational diabetes since 25 weeks and Its been the longest time ever without cake and chocolate Grin

But you get there and now the ends in sight I feel like actually is flown by and I should have enjoyed being pregnant as this is my third and last baby xxx

Maybbabi · 18/11/2019 10:23

Me, me and me! I am so excited to meet my baby. It’s my first one so I have no idea what’s in store (apart from severe sleep deprivation), but I’m still so excited and impatient. Only 10 weeks and 6 days left!

I haven’t exactly loved pregnancy either. Trimesters 1&2 were hard. So far this tri has been fairly ok. It’s making counting down the weeks a bit easier as I’m not struggling to get through them. You’ll find that the weeks will start to fly by, especially as Christmas is just around the corner. Grin

bananaontoast1 · 18/11/2019 14:31

I'm 5 days overdue, and have felt rubbish the entire pregnancy :( no show, lots of false starts and everyone I know (including those due after me!) Have had their babies by now - I'm hoping the fact I've had stomach ache since last night and the odd tightening is a sign things are moving, because I just want this baby out now!

fonxey · 18/11/2019 14:46

Yeah i was feeling impatient then as well. Just try to enjoy your second trimester as the third sucks.

Concentrate on doing lots of things together with you and your partner, bonding with your bump, join shine antenatal yoga type class maybe... Helps keep the time ticking by.

I'm 36+4 and entirely fed up. I miss being 16 weeks!

R2D2abc · 18/11/2019 14:46

OP I know it might sound old fashioned, but I find that knitting a hat, shoes for baby helps keeping me occupied. Also you could have a pregnancy diary for your baby, that might occupy your tone too. It's a long wait sometimes but small things like this might help you still focus on baby but also help your days go by.

smartcarnotsosmartdriver · 18/11/2019 14:51

I feel like a terrible person, I'm not so much looking forward to meeting baby but looking forward to not being pregnant. I'm 38+5 and booked for my ELCS on Wednesday. I have completely sucked at being pregnant. Once he's here I know the focus will switch but for now I'm just looking forward to not being pregnant. OP I hope the rest of your pregnancy goes well. I agree with PP's try and keep as busy as you can, I'm pretty much housebound at this point and the time is dragging.

Justthinkofone · 18/11/2019 14:59

Me too! 16 weeks and sort of can't wait, but equally....aaah don't want to wish it away!
Took 3.5 years ttc, 3 mcs and a tfmr. 2nd baby but my son from exh is nearly 11. Haven't even told many people either so it feels quite private, I don't think once people know it'll go any quicker tho?!
When do people buy stuff? I saw a travel system I really like from a trusted local friend of friend (good price too)but feels waaaay to early?!??!?! When is normal to buy? Wishing you all fab rest.of pregnancy be it a week or 24 more! X

Sleepycat91 · 18/11/2019 15:15

Yep. My DS was a 34 weeker and about to turn that with DD on Wednesday. Im not scared of another premie and DS was almost 5lb and perfect so wouldnt be the end of the world if his sister wanted to make an early appearance aswell. Although if she could hang on to 36 weeks id appreciate it aha i feel like ive been pregnant 40 years and its dragging now

Kittenbittenmitten · 18/11/2019 15:35

I'm looking forward enormously to not be pregnant. Time has stopped. I'm now considered full-term. I'm tired and having to keep reminding myself to get as much sleep in as possible and keep busy instead of miserably analysing and googling every little twinge. Nesting means I've attended to a lot of the important stuff but still could do with attending to a few more things.

And yes, of course I'm a teeny bit excited about newborn cuddles, tiny nappies and tiny outfits but let's be honest they don't give much back for a few weeks, do they? No smiles and dreading the cluster feeds but so happy about being released from peanut bladder, alcohol-free and acid reflux prison!

Kittenbittenmitten · 18/11/2019 15:37

Poor you @bananaontoast1. SadFlowers

tacosplease · 18/11/2019 16:31

I've got to admit - I'm definitely looking forward to that first glass of wine/champagne! Grin

Defo looking forward to a cocktail. I've told my boyfriend to bring me a jug of the stuff to the birth centre.

No eyebrows will be raised at that!

ELM8 · 18/11/2019 23:28

Same same same same same Grin 38+5 and feels like this baby is NEVER going to come!!!

Alderaan · 18/11/2019 23:43

I'm incredibly impatient to meet mine! I'm 32+2. Although I'm desperate to know he's fine, it's also been a dreadful pregnancy and I can't wait to no longer be pregnant

tacosplease · 07/12/2019 08:57

I’m now 19+1 - the weeks are going quite quickly but I still have another 4 months, 3 weeks and 2 days to go! I’m not particularly enjoying being pregnant if I’m honest - I definitely don’t have a pregnancy glow thing going on and just feel fat, bloated and spotty. I can’t wait to be out of the pregnancy phase and for my baby to be here!

I do have a LOT to sort around the house though before the baby arrives, so should really get onto that...

goingtoneedabiggercar · 07/12/2019 13:50

@tacosplease it'll be worth it, my wee one put in his appearance last month, he's 2 1/2 weeks now and just so squidgy. I absolutely hated being pregnant, it was the worst.

Tableclothing · 07/12/2019 13:58

How do you deal with the wait

Not much choice, really. I'm 33 weeks and so sick of it.

I'm not so much looking forward to meeting baby but looking forward to not being pregnant. This is me all over. I am already starting to feel a bit guilty about DD (probably) being an only but I am really not sure that doing this again would be good for me, DH or DD. As pregnancies go mine has been pretty easy, and I've still hated it Sad

T0rt0ise · 07/12/2019 17:35

Yup, but largely because I'm just bored of being pregnant! Am only 28 weeks so still ages to go (and I can't even complain really as I've had a pretty easy pregnancy) but am just missing running, a good night's sleep, not needing to pee constantly and being able to exercise my horse without hip pain Blush

fatandshatteredfairy · 07/12/2019 18:25

I'm 34+4 with dc2 and just want to join the I hate being pregnant gang! It's been a high risk pregnancy and I'm booked in for a ELCS on the 8th of Jan but he could be coming earlier and honestly I'm hoping he does.

Fat, spotty, tired, sore and emotional? Check, check, check, check and check!

Plus having dd who's 2.5 and doesn't understand that mummy can't lift/dance/run round after her is driving me insane.

Bring on the birth!!

abbs1 · 07/12/2019 19:14

I just want my baby here now! I'm 23+4 but severe debilitating hyperemesis has made my pregnancy miserable and I'm so done and over it now. I just want my baby in my arms and to know their ok.

ohdearymemumof3 · 08/12/2019 06:51

Im 38+1 so baby will be here very soon. Now its come to the end it doesn't feel real and im so scared of labour but i know she has to come out🙈 this is baby #3 for me but doesn't get any easier.. i hate the not knowing when its going to happen🙈xx
