30 weeks - how long should I wait for bub to move before getting worried??

Usually bub is very very active in the morning, most days enough to wake me up. This morning I've barely felt anything, the odd very very gentle jerk thats more like wind. have tried prodding, poking and patting and even had breakfast but still nothing. Had weird dreams last night about baby being taken away and watching line on pg test disappear !!!
How long do you think I should I wait before I phone the FMAU/MW??

Don't wait just go. Chances are the baby has got bigger so the movements will be more restricted but it's best to go and get checked out and put your mind at rest.

Try laying down and having a drink of coke (or something fizzy) I think this used to work with DD1

Extremely cold water usually worked for me. Midwife recommended it to as the bubs don't like it!

OK will try the cold water first I think. I have to take DS to nursery in 10 mins, if I haven't felt anything then I'll head straight down to the hospital..

thanks guys

Try an ice lolly if you've got any - or just crunch on some ice

drink either cold water or cold fizzy drink and see if that does anything, maybe 20-30 mins. If nothing - call the number on your notes / MW and head in for a trace (dont be fobbed off by anyone on the phone telling you to wait). Basically by now your baby is in a routine and if it is normally more active at this time, you should have a trace and get it checked out. Most of the time, the minute you are attached to the machine - LO will wake up.

That's so true everytime I went in to be monitored with my two as soon as they strap the monitor on the baby moves more than ever and it's embarrassing.

the other thing you can try is loudly banging a saucepan near to your stomach.
