Hi ladies,

I had a 4D scan today I am 26+3w along but I am measuring 6 days over, is this normal or should I be worried? Will i have a big baby? She said he weighs 2lbs already 🙈

Ignore it! It is only ever an estimate anyway, but there is a wide range of what is normal. What they are saying is that your measurements (which are subjective) match to the average of babies 6 days older. So what?!

Dont worry about it 6 days isnt really much. I had growth scan at 25 weeks and baby was 2lb 2 est and again at 28 weeks est 3lb 4... my bump measurements have been 4 week over since 25 weeks too im just carrying a big baby BUT they are just that estimates they aint always true. X

@Boymummy3 have you had your baby yet? I don't know why they tell you these then make you worry! 🙈

Presumably it was a private scan, not an NHS one. Sometimes it's better to leave these things to qualified professionals, not all private scan places are, and often do induce anxiety with issues like this.

I know you might be told that your fundal height is measuring a week over but I had growth scans and measurements were always plotted on a percentile. They don’t adjust your due date after 12 weeks so telling you the baby is measuring 6 days over at a 26 week scan, based on my experience anyway, sounds unusual. Was it at one of those baby bond type places? I’d personally ignore it unless the scan was done by a professional but even then they’re not always accurate.

@Rmac90 no not had baby yet im 30 weeks tomorrow. Personally as other pp has said i wouldn't take notice and leave measurements etc to your midwife and if they say there is something to worry about then fair enough but other than that dont worry yourself. Xx

It was a private one called baby care scanning, they are well known, I have my midwife next week so I will mention it to her then! I know they don't change the due date I don't know how she got "6 days over"
