Just had my baby! I’m 45 and he is a healthy Little 5 day old peach , I was very stressed because of our dire financial situation and my iffy health two things which helped me most were gentle swimming most days ( not so much the exercise in it’s self but more the time out to myself that the exercise gave me away from older child And life in general ) and thyroxine 50 mg which I needed for slightly low thyroid but it ment didn’t put any weight on and maintained decent energy and mood levels

Congratulations!! Smile... Thanks for getting in touch, its really good to hear that there are others who are doing it all a bit later!!! I'm feeling very aware that all of my friends had their little ones such a long time ago (one is now a grandma!) and although no one has directly commented on my age, I'm just feeling a bit anxious and well... Older!!.... Swimming sounds like a great idea... In terms of size, I feel that I look as big now as I was full term with my first!

Yay! It’s not just me. I was starting to feel a little lonely.
Hello lovely ladies, as you can guess from the name, I’m 45 and was not expecting this. I have two boys in their 20s and a daughter of 10. Three miscarriages in the past five years were followed by the signs of peri-menopause. I’m now 13+4 and had a good scan earlier this week, so beginning to dare to feel confident. Might even start telling people, but I too am sporting an unmistakable bump, so some might have guessed. I love the fact that these days it’s considered rude to ask someone if they’re pregnant. Anti-Body shaming has certainly kept me safe so far, along with chunky coats.

I’ll be 42 when I have my 2nd in March. My 1st is 7. At first I was really preoccupied with my age and kept pre-empting any ‘older mum’ comments with various jokes about my ovaries having one last stab at motherhood. Thing was, there were no comments about my age- no one gave a hoot about it and were all really pleased for me. I was worried about my son’s reaction as he’s been an only child for ages but he’s been great too. I will be seeing a consultant at 36 weeks due to age but other than that the medical profession have no concerns. This pregnancy has so far (24 weeks now) been far easier than with my son when I was 34. It’s a blessing to be pregnant again so unexpectedly!
