Morning xx

So yesterday at 36 week scan we found out our little boy hasn't really grown as much as they'd have liked in the last 4 weeks , and also due to gestational diabetes they've booked me in for induction at 38 weeks .

What can I do to help my body be more ready for a positive induction any one have some tips ?

3rd baby but feeling really nervous

I don’t think there’s much you can do - I was induced and asked the same thing!

If you want to you can ask your Bishops Score, how likely it is the induction will work. I did this as if the induction was unlikely to succeed I would have rather had a planned section than an emergency one. If you know you want to try the induction anyway then you may prefer to just get on with it and not worry yourself about your score. Maybe you could ask if a sweep would help.

However I had the induction (also due to tailing growth) and it was absolutely fine, happened pretty quickly actually!

I know this wasn’t your question but I recommend to take lots of snacks and books/downloaded things on your iPad/ other activities as sometimes you can be there a while waiting for labour to kick in. I had a good 12 hour + stretch while the pessary was in lying in bed enjoying a good book and eating sweets!

Definitely take war plugs as others on the ward may be in established labour and somewhat noisy!

Hi op there's not really much you can do to prepare your body for an induction but I would suggest taking plenty of amusement mags/books,phone etc as it can take a while or days for some....I found my induction quite enjoyable laying in bed and taking it easy (especially when your a mum already and dont get that luxery anymore) until the contractions started and then it was more intense and continuous painful contractions one after the other....also request/ take pain relief earlier on so it's already in place before the contractions hit if that's something your planning on 😊 I'm 37wks pregnant with 4th but getting induced at 40wks but still nervous as well! good luck with your labour
