Fixating on food and feeling sick

I’m 15 weeks pregnant and am still struggling with mild nausea. I used to love my food but can now only face eating certain bland things - mainly Weetabix, plain pasta with a tiny bit of sauce and bread.

It sounds silly but when I was in my first trimester I ate a beef curry oven meal and remember feeling really sick afterwards. Likewise after drinking a glass of non-alcoholic wine.

I still have a beef curry in the freezer and several bottles of the wine in my fridge. Whenever I open the fridge I see them and it makes me feel sick all over again.

How can I stop this - is it worth just throwing them away to put it out of my mind? I’m feeling nauseous just writing this!

Soups, rice, yoghurt, scrambled eggs and fruit are other foods that I can stomach!

I drank lots of peppermint tea and ginger tea and found it helped a bit but generally all I could eat was buttered toast, bran flakes, jacket potatoes, plain pitta bread, crackers, rice cakes, apples and bananas! I found that raw veggies had less of a nauseating effect that cooked veg. Onions and garlic made it worse.

The wine bottles just take out of the fridge and put into a cupboard for now. They won't go off. The beef curry I would palm off to someone else. I personally hated the fridge/freezer when I had morning sickness. No idea why just did. It passed and we're friends again Grin but could it be that rather than the contents?

This is so normal! I had a macaroni cheese on week 8 and was sick after (due to the huge multi vitamin I took) but I associated the 2 and then couldn't bear anything cheesy until about week 32!! The thought made me gag but then when you get further in and more hungry, you get over it I find 😃

I would just get rid of them; chicken made me sick in early pregnancy and I’m still avoiding chicken breasts at 24 weeks as the thought of them reminds me of feeling sick.
The sickness went for me at 16 weeks and since then I can eat a pretty normal diet, I’m back on chicken just not a whole chicken breast

I was feeling a bit better recently and had a few rich dinners - I’ve been feeling nauseous with a slightly upset stomach ever since! So it’s back to the plain food for me. I thought the nausea was meant to have passed by now Sad

Nausea can last the whole 9 months im afraid or it can come and go aslong as your still eating/drinking just stay away from the foods that make you feel worse x

My nausea started at 16 weeks and has remained into the third trimester (am full term now). I find drinking squash rather than plain water throughout the day helps me keep food and meds down. I prefer sour and spicy food (minimal protein) like Indian pickles / certain indo-kenyan curries on crackers etc during the day but at night can only really keep down dairy products due to indigestion

I've chucked away the curry - I feel guilty but the thought of it was making me gag whenever I went near the freezer!

I'm on weak Ribena and a constant stream of dry bread throughout the day. I'm going to switch my pregnancy vitamin to evening as well to see if that helps.
