This is the first time I've ever concieved, and I'm really nervous! I just hope everything goes safe and smoothly, I'm not sure what's normal and not so I'd just like some advice please

I'm at 5 weeks now, and my only symptoms are mild pains in my vaginal area and waking up during the night. The pains worry me quite a lot, I hope they are normal. It often focuses on one side of my vagina, and then later on they will return on the other side. It feels like a dull cramping kind of pain.

Everybody talks about sore breasts, nausea, but ive not had anything like that! Do you think everything is okay? I've been paranoid about the pain being miscarriage, and ive been wearing panty liners with my black underwear just in case I catch any blood at all. I know its only 5 weeks but already the little thing means so much to me!

You're still very early for any real symptoms so I wouldn't worry about that. In two out of my three pregnancies I never had sore boobs at all and in one of them I had no nausea or any symptoms really the whole way through (he's a healthy 2.5 year old now). It really varies so try not to get to hung on what other people experience. In the pregnancies where I have had sickness it's started around 7-8 weeks so you may still be getting that I'm afraid! Good luck and try not worry.

I’m five weeks too. This is my 3rd pregnancy but (hopefully) second baby. The last 2 pregnancies my nausea kicked in around 6 weeks. Currently I don’t really have any symptoms. Smile

Symptoms dont mean alot, first time mums esp always worry about lack of symptoms but some women are just lucky and get away with having minimal or none.
My 1st i didnt have none.. i got heartburn in my 3rd trimester
2nd i was in agony with period pains the day i found out i was pregnant was around 6 weeks , no sore boobs, no needing to wee more often just felt rubbish and ended up dehydrated early on.
This one ive felt awfull since day dot so as you can see symptoms are not always present it varies.
As for pain you are very early still so they could just be normal pains and alot of women get period type pains every month during pregnancy around the time af would of been due. X

I am currently 6 weeks and for the last week i have had the same dull pain in my uterus area. Everyone experiences pregnancy differently and will develop symptoms at different stages. I was worried by the pain i was feeling at first, however after speaking to the midwife i found it is normal for a lot of woman, particularly those in their first pregnancy like myself. I have been experiencing nausea and sore boobs.
Its normal to worry, i am a massive worrier, but worrying isn't going to make it stop and get better. Just calm yourself and enjoy your pregnancy.

Pains are very common in pregnancy. My first pregnancy I was a bit anxious about them all, this second one I don’t bat an eyelid! All kinds of stomach cramps, pulling pains down my legs, sharp ligament pain in my groin! Some mild, some really quite painful! So long as it’s not severe & there’s no bleeding, hopefully all is OK. It’s just things stretching, growing & changing in your body.

Symptom wise, enjoy these symptoms free days. I get about two weeks of no symptoms with my pregnancies and then bam, Hyperemesis and I’m floored for months on end! It’s quite common for symptoms to kick in about 6 weeks or so, so chances are they’ll kick in soon. Or you might be lucky & not get any! Smile
