I had my first c section 9 years ago and was left with the dreaded apron it does look a lot better if I keep my weight down .with pregnancy there is stretching and weight gain I had loose skin as well last time as my bumb was huge has anyone been able to reduce this second time round ? I'm worried my stomach is going to look worse this time will proper c section underwear help ? I know I shouldn't worry at a time like this but confidence is really bad around my stomach as it is I've looked into surgery but would need to save for year's

I've had 2. Mine looked much worse after the second one. Spanx helps on a day to day basis, but there's not much hiding it naked

I don't think mine looks much worse after second section. More stretch marks and loose skin but overhang not any bigger. I found doing 30 day shred helped to an extent.

How quick did your stomachs go down we have a holiday booked for 3 months after the birth and really don't want to still look pregnant I will be walking a lot when I can I know I need to take it easy with the exercise but will be actively dieting as soon as I can as I'm not breastfeeding so can cut my calories.

I've had four and I have this, along with no sensation. I am pretty sure it will never return. I felt really down about it but it won't go away without surgery which I don't want to have, so I have adapted my wardrobe. DH says he loves it, and my body changed to give him his family. That has helped my confidence a lot. Try to embrace whatever will be and don't put pressure on yourself. Enjoy your baby and the holiday!

A lot of women with ‘child bearing hips’ get lower belly aprons naturally with even a normal bmi. I had one before I got pregnant. The best thing to do to ensure it doesn’t look worse is weight train (focus on core / pelvic strength; climbing helped me but you could do pilates and hulahooping too) and lose weight gradually so you don’t get the crepey loose skin look

I would love to be able to embrace it but 9 years down the line I still find it unsightly which it is i would definitely consider surgery in the future as this is the last baby thank you all for replying.

I am about to have my third c section and was cut in two different areas previous so have this! I spoke to surgeon asked which cut he will use which he said will use lower one (which will be first scar) so I asked if he could cut the extra skin in the middle to make it one and get rid of this! He has agreed! So after 11 years I should be looking more "normal" down there x

Amelia I have thought about asking if they could cut the flap off as it causes irritation do you think it's worth mentioning to my consultant ?

Well mine is littally the length of my c section scar, if it's a full apron side to side I dot. Think they would do as it's a "tummy tuck " really but if it's same as what I e asked can't see why not! Mine said aslong as won't make it too tight to heal when my bump is full stretch he will do no problem! Which makes me happy as my worst vit was the little overhang I had between scars I hated

Babyg1995 · 10/11/2019 18:16

It's not a full apron no just the length of The scar thank you will definitely mention it .
