Hi there,

Does anyone else have long cycles? Mine have varied between 34 to 36 days but I have had a 30 day cycle. I'm finding it really hard to keep track of cycles and when I'm ovulating etc because they are not consistent month by month.

Can anyone with similar cycle lengths share their experience with this and in regards to pregnancy, has it or does it cause issues?

TIA Smile

Mine were 34 days after coming off Mirena coil and I didn’t find it a particular problem. I tended to ovulate around day 16-17. I got some cheap ovulation strips online (I think like 40 for £8) and peed on them every day from day 12. I didn’t make much of a dent in the box before falling pregnant. Good luck!

I have pcos with regular periods and mine were 34 days until I lost weight and started taking pregnacare max. Then they shortened to 30 days and stayed that way.

I had very irregular, very long cycles after coming off the pill (shortest was 29 days, longest 45). Couldn't pinpoint ovulation at all. Fell pregnant in cycle 7 after taking an ovulation test every day and never getting a positive, now 24 weeks. I think temping would have helped, that's what I'll do next time

Yes, Range from 32 to 38 day cycles, never really consistent until after I had DS and then I was more 34/36.

So I use period tracker deluxe (have done for 5 years), this is really reliable for me for when I ovulate or due on. It took 18 months to conceive DS and 2 months for this baby (just one really for trying 3 days over ovulation).

I can't say anything that I did to be honest, I opked every month prior to DS and then this time it was natural, I didn't think about it. If it happened it happened and after two goes of not really trying I caught.

I think I was less stressed this time, we didn't really focus on it.

I had PCOS but don’t seem to have it anymore... I do still tend to have longer and variable cycles though. I’ve had no problems conceiving and have done within a couple of months both times. My advice would be to have sex every other day you’re not bleeding, don’t worry about tracking ovulation or any of that stuff. All the best.

I had a 35 day cycle before I was pregnant and I just want to say no midwife or doctor would listen to me about it and all my dates were calculated for a 28 day cycle. And what a surprise all my dc were very late!!

IoMoon · 10/11/2019 17:03

I usually have 35 day long cycles, ovulation on day 22-23. Only use temperature and cm tracking and always has been quite consistent. Sometimes I could have 28 -42 day cycles, but that’s an exception. Still very easy to adjust when tracking. I have tracked for years before I even considered getting pregnant so felt like I knew my body very well before we started trying. Took 8 months to get pregnant, though at the beginning I took conception vitamins and they really messed up my cycles.. my dates were also not adjusted to my long cycles and late ovulation, so expecting a “late” baby!

Thank you for all your responses. It's really helpful to listen to other women in similar positions and especially those who have managed to conceive. My only trouble is I don't know when I ovulate. I have strips but I work shift work so it's easy to not keep track as sleep during the day sometimes...

On a side note is anyone able to glance their eyes over this? Unsure if I just have line eyes.... I have put a negative effect on

Thanks
