Fed up of tiredness

I'm 35+2 and i feel constantly knackered out. Some days i feel so tired in nearly with it and i guess it's not going to improve much...!

How do you guys who already have kids actually function? I don't feel sleepy or tired through lack of sleep, i think i get enough (no less than usual) but I'm just completely whacked.
Am on iron tablets but have to admit to being abysmal at remembering to take them. (Being too tired to think didn't help.)

I'm glad work is understanding cos I've been feeling asleep there and finding it very hard to do much. Even my body just feels like it's dragging.

So really... His do you people with kids (multiple!) Do it?

I was abnormally tired in my second pregnancy, at first I put it down to being in my late 30's but it got progressively worse. Tried to explain to community midwives how I felt and the matter was very much brushed aside.

It was picked up at 35 weeks that I had gestational diabetes. After a week on medication and following a low carb / high protein diet I got my energy back, it was amazing.

Do tell your midwife and do get your blood sugars checked.

I've already been tested for that though and it came back ok. But i guess it could have developed since?

Trouble is i get tired and all i want them is sugary things like cake or cherry ours and Apple pies. Once i indulge i feel slightly better. I've always had a bit of a sugar addiction and despite best efforts i just can't keep them down. It's got worse.

I'm hoping it's partly my work routine though... Up at 0530, home by 8pm-9 and lately 4 day weeks.

Looking forward to mat leave and hoping I'll feel better.

Please ask to be tested again. My (useless) community midwife was adamant there was no issue. It was picked up by the hospital midwife during a routine appointment. I didn't tick any of the usual high risk boxes.

The same as you, I was desperate for sugar. After a meal I would fall into an extremely deep sleep for two to three hours. Once it had been detected and was being treated correctly I felt so much better, it's indescribable.
