Exercising - first trimester

I am 6 weeks pregnant and am continuing to do workouts in the gym about 3-4 times a week plus a yoga class.
The workouts consist of an app on my phone which is about 20-30 mins of exercise using dumbbells, squats - that sort of thing. There isn’t any cardio involved as such, I don’t use the equipment at the gym.

Is it ok to do this at this stage? I plan on following a pre-natal exercise programme on my app but that doesn’t begin until 2nd trimester.

A bit conflicted as lots of websites indicate exercise is good, in fact more beneficial, to pregnancy than not to do it.

What are your thoughts?

I'm nearly at week 12. The advice I was given is that you can sustain the same level of exercise you had pre pregnancy in the first trimester just don't push yourself too hard and avoid contact sports like rugby and boxing. I do bootcamp and pilates (although have had to skip a few due to lovely "morning" sickness which might be kicking in for you in the next week or so) tell your personal trainers/instructors straight away too. My doctor advised to stop doing exercise until you are safely through the first trimester.
Most prenatal yoga/pilates classes won't even accept new joiners until after 12 weeks.
After you pass this stage, exercise is good, and you can return to the level you were ay, just don't take on anything extra.

The current NHS recommendations are that you can continue doing the same exercise you was doing pre pregnancy, just don't overdo it and exhaust yourself. Avoid contact sports and be very cautious of any sports that could mean a fall e.g. horse riding. If you're using weights you may find that you need to start decreasing the weight as you get further along.

My first pregnancy I kept active the whole way through and I really believe it helped me, especially in labour. This time round I haven't for various reasons, and my body isn't coping with the pregnancy half as much. May just be coincidence, but I'm more worried about labour this time round
