Small baby, reverse blood flow?

Does anyone know what reverse blood flow means. I’ve tried googling but it’s a lot of jargon I don’t understand and what I can make sense of doesn’t sound good at all.

I’ve been on the feral monitor and her heart rate is perfect the midwife said. She said she would go get the doctor to talk to me about a plan of action.

I’m wondering is anyone’s been in a similar boat and what the outcome was?

It is a sign that the placenta isn’t working as well as it should do. That is likely to be the reason why your baby is small and is quite likely why you the scan and monitoring was done.
It is good that the monitoring shows that baby is happy right now. What the team will now have to think about/remain aware of & discuss with you is how long baby should stay inside and how well he/she is going to cope with the stresses of labour.
How many weeks are you now?

Hi Op, just to second the PP comment, reverse blood flow on the arterial doppler is a sign that the placenta isn’t functioning as well as it should be. You mentioned baby was small in your post title, so this could be a reason why. Little one might be growth restricted if you are measuring small and the doppler is showing reverse flow. Your doc will most likely come up with an action plan that will include regular monitoring which means that if it looks like little one is struggling they will look at taking him out so he can flourish on the outside. I don’t have direct experience with reverse flow but my little girl was measuring small and was delivered early, she was small at birth 5lbs but is catching up now and perfectly healthy! There is a group on fb called IUGR support group UK that might be worth joining, lots of parents who have had similar situations and have lovely little babies :)
