Hi all,
I was wondering if I could get so advice, I'm 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant and I have had a sore back and an aching belly for a few days and I'm wondering if this is normal, the reason I'm so worried is because I had a miscarriage 4 months ago and I'm terrified there's something wrong, but I don't want to keep bothering my midwife if it's normal aches and pains, has anyone else experienced this in early pregnancy? I would appreciate very much if someone would get back to me. Thanks xx

Hiya - I totally understand you being stressed out. I was in exactly the same position a couple months ago, so I really hope I can make you feel a bit better now!

I had a miscarriage before, and the only real symptom I got was a sore back before I started bleeding. So when I got pregnant again this time, I was terrified every time my back ached. BUT I'm now 16 weeks pregnant and I've had a really sore back on and off almost the whole way through. I've also had loads of crampy pains since the start (feels like period pain) in my lower abdomen. I'm happy to say that (touch wood) everything has been totally fine so far - scans and midwife checks totally normal etc.

So please don't worry - sore backs and tummy are totally normal! x

Sparklingplease thank you for getting back to me, you have put my mind at ease to know this is normal, and feel I can settle a bit now as I've been losing sleep over this because of the worry. My partner has been very supportive and listened to my worries but I'm glad to have spoken to someone who is in the same position as me because you really understand. I'm so glad your pregnancy has been fine for you 😊 and wish you well though out the rest of your pregnancy xx
