Clothes/PJ recommendations for after c section

I’m having a c section at the beginning of Dec. I want to buy some bits for hospital this week. I don’t really want to buy maternity as find it to be quite overpriced. Can anyone suggest best things to wear/buy? I only want to get essentials for myself, would rather keep money for stuff for my little man. TIA X

I know you said no maternity stuff but I think it’s definitely worth just getting a couple pairs of maternity leggings, they are quite cheap if you look online, though I got mine from H&M... I think they were about £7-8

also GIANT PANTS!

I got my granny pants- 1 size up, from Sainsbury’s, 1 pack of 5 did fine for me.

Big pants (I found those from Sainsbury's the best), leggings a couple of sizes too big (both pants & leggings to go over what once was top of bump) and 2/3 baggy men's T-shirt's... comfort is key!xx

A snuggly warm dressing gown is a must! Get two or even three if you think you'll live in them (I do Blush)

Other than that drawstring pyjamas with an actual drawstring or yoga pants with a thick waistband in a size or two too big may be good for lounging around. I find primark/supermarket stuff fine. If you're planning to breastfeed accessible tops are a must. Stretchy vest tops are my favourite and you can have loose T-shirts or button up pyjamas or zip up hoodies (plastic zip better than metal) for over these.

I never bought pregnancy pj, went with normal ones that fit me with belly and they will be comfy also after birth.
I would only recommend you have a night gown for afterwards as you won’t be able to walk straight after and will need pad changed and they’ll most likely give you stockings.

Also for pjs it might be comfortable having wide legs rather than leggings tipe( for hospital) as you need to have the stockings also I assume.

I went with ASDA ones, and found them good, tried to buy something that I was going to use later on too.

When I got home after my c-section found that decathlon leggings were nice for me as they were holding my belly well inside.

Hope it helps.

Also I had some summer trousers... the soft elastic waist floaty kind... it might be worth checking out new look and Matalan as they should be in sale by now and they’ll be next to nothing cost wise....

Good luck! Xx

Nighties. Cheap ones from Primark.
Huge granny pants.
Clothes....I just wore my maternity jeans for a week (well 4 days) then my normal clothes.

Oh..I had my baby prematurely, so maybe just get joggies or leggings for afterwards?

Nightie for the hospital, as you will have a catheter in for 12 hours. Then once that's removed wear high knickers and loose joggers or PJs that sit high on your stomach and don't rest on the incision.
