Any tips? I feel pretty ropey. Please tell me it won’t bring on labour :(

For me it did bring on labour but I was 39 weeks so fingers crossed for you.

Brought on my labour at 39 weeks but think I was close anyways. Just keep an eye on your water intake and give the midwife a call for advice

Thank you for your replies. Oh no I’d be so embarrassed going into hospital like this. I know midwifes have seen it all but gross. Better pack my hospital bag just in case

I'm currently 17weeks and currently in hospital after catching norovirus. It left me dangerously dehydrated and with high levels of keytones. Keep an eye on how you feel and contact your doctor if need be. My doctor and hospital have been lovely. Good luck and hope you're feeling better soon.

Oh @saxon2016 I’m sorry that’s terrible for you. I hope you are on the mend soon. I’m sipping on flat coke very slowly and will try to keep hydrated at least as I sure don’t feel like eating. At least the nhs website says this isn’t harmful to babies so glad (in a way) I’ve got it now rather than when the newborn is here

No definitely not a risk to baby. The hospital confirmed that for me. I have hyperemesis so the two combined have made it quite unpleasant. Flat coke is a good call. Should be gone in 24/48hrs, fingers crossed.

I had severe food poisoning at 38 weeks (from mussels - we had never heard of listeria in the 1980s) it was a horrible experience but didn't affect my baby or provoke labour. Good luck, hope you recover quickly.

I had this at 37 weeks with DD1 - it didn’t send me into labour but did make her flip from breech to head down (think she was trying to get away from my lurching stomach!) It was pretty unpleasant - I found frozen lucozade sport helped to keep me hydrated once the worst part was over. Hope you feel better soon!
