You need to go in person and show them the notes. In your situation they might prefer to sit you in the waiting room and shuffle you in the second a room becomes available

BlessedBeTheFruitCake · 29/10/2019 10:48

I would ring MAU, there's a reason they wanted you to be an inpatient.

Boymummy3 · 29/10/2019 10:50

Yes I would ring them up and explain etc.. of course if they are full then they simply havnt got a bed for you but they should still have you in like pp has said even if you are to be sat in a side/waiting room untill a bed becomes Available x

GruffalOH · 29/10/2019 10:51

In your shoes, I'd call or turn up to discuss with someone. They wanted you in today for safety reasons, and unfortunately the ward being full doesn't mean that those concerns have magically disappeared.

Ask to go back in to be checked again at least. Don't stay home getting stressed waiting for their call. That won't be good for you or the baby :) good luck!

Clangus00 · 29/10/2019 10:58

Phone your consultant and tell them.

sweetsaltypopcorn · 29/10/2019 11:21

Thank you so much for the quick replies.

I called the MAU and told them the full story. The delivery suite is on divert so I can't even go into the MAU in case I need to be admitted!?! They transferred me to the delivery suite and told them the full story while I was on hold. The delivery suite are now saying they can't say when they will call me back, it could be late afternoon or even evening, but I will be admitted at some point today. God knows how if there are no beds, but I at least feel a bit reassured!

Feel so stressed. Keep crying!

I would definitely call or drop into the assessment unit.

GruffalOH · 29/10/2019 12:19

You poor thing! Try to rest if you can, and distract yourself with a film or something. At least you know it will still be today. If it gets to early evening and still no call, don't feel hesitant to phone for an update on when they'll get you in.

keepingbees · 29/10/2019 13:04

Is there another hospital within reach you could try?
They can on occasion be full to capacity, but if they can't admit you to delivery suite then surely they should find you a bed elsewhere such as fetal assessment where baby can at least be monitored.

OnlineShopping · 29/10/2019 13:07

You should be redirected to another hospital that does have room if necessary and by necessary, that can just be for your peace of mind.

When I went in to have DC4, the delivery suite was full so I sat in the waiting room of the assessment unit for ten hours until I got to see someone. There is absolutely nothing wrong with you turning up in person to speak to the assessment unit but be prepared to be sent to another hospital nearby.

I’m sorry you are going through this stress.

Dandelion1993 · 29/10/2019 13:10

I had a similar thing with my induction. Called at 7am beds full and would have to wait to be called. Finally called at 4pm.

sweetsaltypopcorn · 29/10/2019 13:12

Just had a call from the delivery suite - there is a bed available for me!

Thank you for all your responses SmileFlowers
