Hey ladies,

Just as the title suggests, I'd love to hear about your experiences in the 3rd trimester and give me some ideas on what to expect or things I should be thinking about as I've never done this before!

TIA xx

For me not a lot changed. I'm now 35 weeks and I'm tired and going to bed early but awake in the night due to PGP and carpal tunnel & swelling in my hands and wrists. Think I'm getting more anxious too and emotional.

Mainly, though, if you're feeling well use the time to enjoy the last stages of pregnancy. Start getting things ready if you can and relax and see people. That's my main aim is to catch up with friends etc and prep the house.

@LighteningRidge thanks for replying! If you don't mind me asking, when did the PGP and swelling start for you? Wondering if it's something I should be keeping an eye out for or would I know about it already?

I'm feeling okay a part from higher blood sugar levels (I'm type 1 diabetic) so I'm trying to enjoy it but I'm already a bit fed up to be honest, just want her to be here already! We have plans with friends over the next few weeks which I'm looking forward too and I'm excited about getting the Christmas decorations up in a few weeks Grin

I'm a FTM too, 33 weeks on Thursday.

I've found the only changes from 2nd to 3rd trimester are:
I need to wee a lot more, especially through the night! (Last night I went to the loo 5 times between 10pm and 5am!)
I find it hard to get back to sleep once I'm awake during the night, so I've had a few days with 4am starts 😴
Baby wriggles and kicks feel more prominent than they have done earlier. Although that may be something to do with my placenta being anterior.

I'm now just getting excited about getting all festive ahead of baby's arrival Grin

@MummyBear405 the PGP started at 16 weeks but really ramped up at 25 weeks particularly when I started sleeping on my sides. I have had physio and seeing the chiropractor to help relieve some of the pain. You can't cure only manage it unfortunately.

The swelling started about 2 weeks ago and then the pain set in. My wrists are particularly sore at night and because of the fluid retention it presses on the nerves and my hands go tingly and fingers hurt and are clumsy. It isn't the most fun I have had I must say. Definitely keep an eye out and if your worried get checked over.

Enjoy meeting up with people and the up coming festivities. I'm looking forward to having all the lights up outside to cheer up these winter nights Grin
