Hi, this is probably a long shot but I was just wondering if anybody on here has been diagnosed with factor v Leiden (blood disorder related to blood clots) and gone on to have a healthy pregnancy? Or perhaps an unhealthy pregnancy/miscarriage?
Just looking for peoples experiences if they wouldn't mind sharing!

1 in 20 people have heterozygous factor V leiden so I’d imagine about 5% of mumsnet has

I've got factor v Leiden. I have 2 healthy children and fairly easy pregnancies (complications were unrelated). I injected heparin throughout both and was under consultant care. Hope that helps a little, best of luck!

Hi popsadaisy I have factor v Leiden and have 2 kids . I don’t think it affected getting pregnant or keeping it but I was on clexane injections throughout both pregnancies and afterwards as the risk of clotting increases .

Thank you for you reply guys very reassuring Smile

I don’t have factor leiden but I do have another rarer clotting disorder. I was on an aspirin / inhixia (similar to clexane) protocol before I got my bfp (ivf pregnancy) and then an aspirin / fragmin protocol afterwards for up to 6-12 weeks pp. My consultant said the only difference in protocol between mine and factor leiden is that in the latter you stay on the stronger version of heparin throughout pregnancy.

I have Factor II and V too and have had two healthy pregnancies resulting in straightforward and healthy births. They’ll keep a close eye on you and you’ll be fine
