Hi
i hada growth scan on monday, i was told that my baby has fallen below the percentile to be on course for growth, and has stopped growing. I had a low papp-a result early on in my pregnancy and was told I was high risk for chromosomal abnormalities. I had the invasive test done @ 12 weeks and that came back as normal.
all my scans up untill now have shown baby growing ok, but it now seems like my placenta is not working as it should and baby is not growing which consultant informed me can lead to stillbirth. I am being induced next week Thursday as I will be 37 weeks. im stressing about in between that time what is happening with my baby. they said they are not too worried as there was blood flow between myself and baby and to monitor babys movement. Has anyone else had experience with this?

Morning , this happened with my son. I was having growth scans every month .Through out pregnancy had one at 34 weeks , his growth had not gone up much since last scan so they asked me back 2 weeks later and he hadn't grown at all . I was induced at exactly 37 weeks.
He did come out at 4.8lbs. We had to stay in a few days due to his size . And monitor that he could hold his body temp and sugar levels .
They took my placenta away and examined it. It was a grey colour instead of nice and pink and had very poor bloody flow, then midwife told me we were very lucky to get him out when we did Thanks
Bar a milk allergy and hypospadias he is a thriving 10 month old . I know it's easier saod then down but try not to worry to much . When I was told I would be induced because of his growth I kept saying to myself " he will be better on the outside we're I can feed & look after him "

I hope your induction goes smoothly Thanks

I had the same except the blood flow was compromised. I had my DD at 31 weeks and she’s absolutely perfect. You would never know she was premature, and 37 weeks isn’t classed as premature.
Good luck to you x.

Morning. I haven't had this but two of my DC's were born at 37 weeks and were absolutely fine. In itself, being born at 37 weeks is not a problem at all. Hope all goes well.

Had this with my son. please keep an eye on movements, I went in with reduced movements and they got him out the next day (he was breech) he was born at 36 weeks 4lb 14oz. was prefect.

36/37 weeks - youll be fine x

I had almost exactly this. Baby was born via induction a few days later totally fine but they kept me in hospital up until my induction to monitor baby

I could have written some of this myself! We found out my DS had stopped growing at 36 weeks, after being told I would have a huge baby because I was misdiagnosed with gestational diabetes! The cord had good blood flow thankfully. We were supposed to induce by 37 weeks, but had to do it a couple of days early as DS had stopped moving around. He did turn out to be fine but we didn't want to wait any longer and he was born at 37 weeks.

He was 4lbs 3oz (not on the percentile growth chart) but fully alert! We managed to leave hospital about 3 days later. We had a pretty intensive feeding schedule of every 3 hours around the clock for the first 5 months. By the time he was 6 months old he was a fat ball and on the 50th centile for weight! I also know a couple who's DS had stopped growing and was born at 33 weeks, he's 8 months now and doing extremely well. My DS is 5.5 years old now and is about the 40th centile, which I think is about right taking my height and DH's height into account.

I'm sure things will be fine - and if it at any point you get worried, just go in to be on the safe side.
