Hi. I am new this to group, but can anyone tell if there are antenatal yoga teachers in Worthing, West Sussex or the surrounding areas.

I used to do Yoga, after my first son was born two years. I am now expecting my second baby in January 2005, and feel that yoga will help me.

Any suggestions?

Hi TB. Sorry, I don't have any suggestions (I am in London) but just wanted to say hi and welcome to MN. I hope someone will be along soon with the answer to your query. Also, have you tried googling it?

Hello Trixiebell! Welcome to MN. I did antenatal yoga in my first pregnancy. I believe the teacher still does lessons - she's in Winchester - a bit far from you perhaps? But, she did make a video which I have and I think you can buy through Blooming Marvellous.
Good luck!

Hi there,
I am looking for DVD/video with antenatal yoga exercises. No antenatal classes around in this area. I have got several books but I am new to yoga and thought it would be easier to have a DVD I can follow. I had a look on Amazon but there are quite a few and no idea which ine to pick.
Anyone any experiences?

Just thought i'd add. I found out about my Yoga class through an add in the NCT mag. Worth a look. I also have a pilates preg dvd. I can recommend both.

I do yoga regularly and bought a copy of the Ruth White 'yoga in pregnancy' video. Really like it. Very soothing and restful, but some really nice positions for ironing out all the kinks in your back and giving the baby more space inside. I'm 26 weeks at the moment and am really feeling the benefit. Think there's a Ruth White website you can order it from. If you do a search on google, it should take you there.

Might be worth checking British Wheel of Yoga

I did yoga through out my pregnancy and really benefited from it, I did a regular Hatha class til 34 weeks and a pregnancy class from 30 weeks. It's a good idea to do the pregnancy one if you can as the principles of breathing change in preparation for giving birth, but if you can find a gentle yoga teacher who'll take you a regular class is good.

Congratulations Trixiebell

Look on the Active Birth Centre's website. They have lists of antenatal yoga teachers, and hopefully there'll be one near you.

Good luck.

If you're looking for a local Pregnancy Yoga teacher (also post-natal and mum-and-baby classes and a whole lot more) I'd recommend checking out the Birthlight website
