What will your life style be like? Try to imagine with a child. Visiting NT properties, rural walk or in town? Are you planning more than one child? What kind of age gap? Will you drive or use public transport?

The only advice I can give is one pram will not do everything ( eg off road, round town) and almost everyone ends up buying a stroller at around 1 year and that will get a lot of use.

The Uppababy Vista is amazing - I don't know anyone who has not loved it.

GrumpyHoonMain · 20/10/2019 20:32

Uppababy vista is great for everything except public transport. If you need a pram that’s suitable PT then the babyzen yoyo or the baby jogger are pretty much your only options.

We got on very well with the cosatto giggle 2 but have to say it's not designed for bigger babies. Ds was 8lb 11oz and was out of the car seat by 5 months (meant to last up to the average 13 month old!) and from the bassinette to the buggy bit at 4 months. Hes long though.

I've been looking at the ickle bubba v4 package is £499 for everything at the moment although I'm worried it's not going to be the best!

Also love the look of the egg and the bugaboos which are very pricey!

I have the egg with the maxi cosi car seat and no issues. It’s light and compactable for me. As he is too small for the stroller bit yet ill often put the maxi cosi on instead of the carry cot so he can see out - depending on the length of time we are away. I suspect much will do the same thing and some brands just more expensive

Depends on your lifestyle entirely. I chose a Vista 2nd hand as i walk everywhere and need a big basket for shopping etc but I'll probably buy a jogging stroller too for park runs and things with the baby once they are 6 months. If you use public transport a lot a sling is miles easier than a pushchair as you can just go sit down no faffing trying to maneuver it into a tight space or having to fold it down while every one gets impatient with you ( i have social anxiety so this is a massive no for me) Go to your local pram shop and try a few out for size i wouldn't recommend buying it new though the prices are ridiculous and they only get about a years use out of it before you buy something smaller try Facebook or Ebay for good deals on 2nd barely used ones i saved £600 on mine buying 2nd hand from a lady who hated it as it was bulky

MiaNG · 21/10/2019 04:10

@Lou2120 I have the ickle bubba v3 with the isize mercury car seat for my 6 week old. I would really reccomend for the price especially as the car seat is isize.

As others have said it will most likely be swapped out for a pushchair asap as the travel systems are so awkward to get around and bulky. Didnt want to spend over 1000 on something for such a short space of time.

Boymummy3 · 21/10/2019 08:05

I agree go for which suits you best.. I always go for the 3 in 1 travel systems so I have the car seat/carrycot & Buggy bit all in one which always does them till they are around 2... this time I'm looking at the ones which the carycot bit turns into a buggy eventually as I don't need all 3 bits as i Drive everywhere now. But as others have said no matter what you get you will eventually end up buying a new buggy anyway. Xx

Doobedodoo · 21/10/2019 10:48

After having a few kids, the cheapest you can get away with as it's such a short period of time before, as others have connected, you will want a light portable pushchair that takes up less space and is super like to manoeuvre, with my first I got sucked into the travel system thing, but soon realised that a pushchair at 6 months rendered the three-in-one system a very expensive short-term solution! It's just my feelings but wish you all the best and let us know what you end up going for! I like the comment that mentions what lifestyle do you have as I think that is a really big factor, I have had the same pushchair for two children, it's very simple but chunky with suspension and slightly larger wheels quite a lot of off-roading through woodland etc. :)

finallyamumm · 21/10/2019 10:59

I have the babylo panorama which is great. Really light weight and easy to get in and out of the car I would definitely recommend for what you’re looking for. I think it’s only around £300

aliensprig · 21/10/2019 11:04

We bought a second hand bugaboo buffalo in fab condition with a maxi cosi pebble. We live in rural-ish North Wales with crap public transport links, and I don't drive, so something sturdy and good on rough terrain was our priority. We also considered the Ickle Bubba v3/V4 (both seemed quite wobbly and cheaply made), the baby jogger city mini gt (forward facing only) and the Egg (didn't like the handlebar). My advice would be to go to a department store or pram shop and test as many as possible, bearing in mind what's important to you, then shop around and buy it second hand off FB or ebay.

tisonlymeagain · 21/10/2019 11:43

We loved the Oyster 3, and also the Mothercare Journey Edit is good value but in the end we've plumped for the Mamas and Papas Flip XT.

I see other people's points about them being short-term but I used my travel system with my previous children for a long time, with a Maclaren Stroller as a back up. We do a lot of walking though and a Maclaren type stroller isn't that comfy for across fields and towpaths etc!

Hi there,

We very recently reviewed the leading travel systems on the market - and we picked the Nuna Mixx as our winner for 2019.

You can watch the video review below.

Hopefully it's helpful!
