Spotting - early pregnancy. How much is bad news?

6 weeks pregnant. Have been spotting the last couple of weeks.

Last weeks it was a couple of bursts (once after I had an orgasm ).
This week I am just getting light pink / brown spotting the whole time - almost every time I go to the loo. Sometimes if is very slight (more like discharge than blood if that makes sense).

Booked in for a scan tomorrow but do I need to brace myself for bad news.

No pain or cramps.

Yeah sex is fine during pregnancy, orgasms too obvs....
But not if your bleeding. I mean . Why encourage more bleeding with stimulation?

I had some light spotting at 6 weeks and all was fine.

Most people I know who have had bleeding in pregnancy have been advised to lay off the sex.

I had spotting at 6 weeks and a bleed at 13. They thought the 6 weeks was old blood from implantation (it was brown) and the 13 week was due to low lying placenta which luckily moved up as baby got bigger. No bleeding since and I'm now 32 weeks. They said to me bigger worry was severe cramping and providing the spotting / bleeding was painless it probably wasn't a MC. Hope all goes well for you x

Thank you all. Had a scan, all good. Could see a teeny tiny baby. They can also see an area of bleeding, which they are not hugely worried about. I’m to go back in 2 weeks.

@Gimmechipschocolateandcake - but I had one bleed, stopped bleeding. Then I had one orgasm and bled. Haven’t orgasmed again. Your opening message implied I was shagging away without any regard for the bleeding! This is all new to me and it’s unhelpful to say I’m silly etc etc, made me feel like some feckless teenager or something!

I am glad you had a scan and everything was fine I am only four weeks and tonight have experienced very light spotting and am really panicky. It's really light pink and it's so scary as I never had anything like this with my first pregnancy so I am now thinking the worst 😭

@courtandcass it’s so hard isn’t it. Has your spotting stopped now? Fingers crossed for you that’s it’s nothing to worry about.

@BoomBoomBoomLetMeHearYouSay I had a pad on last night and there is nothing on it this morning but I have been having a lot of cramps so quite anxious !!

Any update @courtandcass ? Fingers crossed for you. I am still spotting which I just find really odd tbh even though the early scan was ok. Also someone hit my car yesterday so I am now just paranoid. Like my boobs feel less achey today and I’ve convinced myself it’s all going to go wrong. So hard!

I have not had anymore spotting since Saturday morning. I looked on the nhs site and it says implantation is around the time of your period which is what it would have been on Saturday which is reassuring and I am still having a lot of pregnancy symptoms - nausea, sore breasts etc. If I get anymore spotting I'm going to call them but I have my first midwife appointment soon

Have been bleeding a lot today and blood clots as well not to mention the cramping feels like a proper period so I am definitely thinking the worst now. Phoned the midwife who advised to do a pregnancy test in a weeks time as they won't be able to see anything on a scan just yet. Thinking the worst right now

Hi im new here just looking for some advice i was on depo i only had 2 shots was meant to go for my 3rd shot on 1/10/2019 but didn't has i was too busy to go early and when i went had to leave to get my son from school had unprotected sex with my partner a few times after. Now im.spotting its only once or twice in the day nothing much just when i wipe but getting alot of pregnancy symptoms like extremely tires all the time feeling sick all the time loss of appetit and peeing alot aswel please anyone got advice?
