Are there any chances of things moving? Just 2cm dilated cervix partially effaced. If by next week things haven't progresses I'll be booked to have an induction on my 40th week.

I really don't want one but rather get one done than having another c section.

What do you mean no movement ??

Weatherwaxed · 17/10/2019 13:20

Are you saying your baby hasn't moved in a week? Have you had their heartbeat checked?

Rainbowhairdontcare · 17/10/2019 13:21

No, I mean no progress in labour terms!

frasersmummy · 17/10/2019 13:38

bloody hell I think you need to have the title change. I was thinking oh my god no .. !!

MrBobLobLaw · 17/10/2019 13:47

Is there a specific reason you're in such a hurry to go in to labour OP? You're only 38w.. I went 9 days overdue with DS! Currently 37w with DC2 and I'm in no hurry to go in it labour!!

Of course it would be fine to go in to labour now but I don't understand why you want an induction on your due date. I thought it was safer to let labour start spontaneously so as to reduce the risk of further intervention, other potential health problems for mother and baby aside of course.

I have a very, very scarred uterus after csection complications. Consultant explained that "natural" birth was a lot better VBAC and that if that was not the case I had to have an early induction as that was slightly less risky than an "overdue " one.

Not a lot you can do OP.. just gotta wait for your body to do it’s thing unfortunately. Sounding like your body is doing something but very slowly .. guess you just need to hang tight & hope baby makes an appearance before induction! Keep in walking around and active! Fingers crossed for you!

Scarlett555 · 17/10/2019 16:07

Thank God your baby has moved! I was thinking the worst.

Try a long walk and raspberry leaf tea

Rainbowhairdontcare · 17/10/2019 16:43

Just in so much pain and paracetamol doesn't do anything! Hopefully I can go back to being active tomorrow

I thought you couldn't be induced after a CS due to the increased risk of uterine tearing with the strong contractions? Must have misread.

Rainbowhairdontcare · 17/10/2019 17:04

It's not ideal RoLaren but of what I've read it's safer to have an early induction than going overdue.
