Seen somewhere that someone in here had been induced due to reduced movements and worried if anyone had experience of this? I'm 31 weeks and had my second hospital visit today due to reduced movements, I also have obstetric cholistasis , both times baby heart tracing was perfect and she moved rapidly and very strong while been monitored(very annoyingly although happy she did) I worry o am
Wasting time but when I say reduced movements I mean she Literally didn't move for 12 hours! And is usually very active and strong
I just wondered how many times I can
Possibly go in for this!? And when you were induced early , when was it and was it purely for reduced movements even thou hearty tracing ok?

I had OC. Induced at 38 weeks but luckily for me mine didn't happen until 36 weeks but they decided one day it was too dangerous to carry on. Go in as much as I think you need to. If movement isn't normal then straight to hospital. I was in and out almost daily with. My son for two weeks! Have the given you medication?

Go in every time. It is not worth the risk or perceived embarrassment.

Hi op, had five lots of reduced movements in total, last episode was just 38 weeks, so they decided it was best to induce me. Heart trace was always perfect each time, so no reason was found, but definitely best to get checked. So they wanted to induce me but they also wanted to get me to as close to 39 weeks as they could, so I had to go in every day for a week to be monitored, then was induced at 38+6, baby born at 39+1 after a long labour! But all worth it in the end! Good luck.

Thanks, I know I think it's because I work at the hospital (not a midwife but nurse) and I know in a and e we have the regular flyers where nothings wrong! I know it's so silly as my baby's health is more important! No not as of yet with meds, I see consultant Monday, however I had in previous two preg had baby's at 37/35 weeks respectively, having growth scans every two weeks and midwife every other week in between, a just feel so worried at the minute about everything x

Please report it and get baby checked EVERY time you are concerned and don’t leave it as long as 12 hours if you feel baby isn’t moving
As midwives we would much rather see you and find things are fine, than not see you the one time it could be critical.
I assume you are seeing a specialist obstetrician about the OC? Ask them to explain the factors that would lead them to suggest induction in your case. There is so much individual variation.

Do NOT leave it as long as 12 hours with no movements. Go in much earlier next time.know your baby's usual movements and if they change go in. Next time they might be ill and need treatment and waiting 12 hours could be too late.
Speaking from experience here.
Congratulations on your baby but don't take their health for granted.

She told me last time (midwife) to lay and limiter twice a day and make sure I get ten movements in a hour trying the cold drinks sugar etc ? So I usually do morning and night , however she does have a pattern early morning and night been the most but also if I lay down in afternoon on back she kicks and punches lol

The ten movements an hour advice is out of date now.
Yes if you lay down on your side it can give you more time to focus on what you are feeling, but current advice (from the royal college of obstetricians and gynaecologists) is if there is any change in the pattern of movements you need to get checked out.
Go in every day if you need to, particularly with your liver problems. The sooner you go in the sooner they can make a plan to get baby out if needed. I think that 32 weeks is one of the key milestone gestations so if you can get past 32 weeks then if they need to deliver baby is in a really strong position.
The reason I am being so strong about this is because it is baby loss awareness week this week. You don't want to be a part of this nrxt year.
Good luck and listen to your instincts.
