Stomach pain - when to go in?

Evening ladies!

Just looking for some advice really, I drank 2 large glasses of milk this evening to try and ease horrible heartburn, It was in date and smelt and tasted fine - about 15 minutes later I got a very intense dull stomach ache which lasted around an hour, the ache started in my mid turso and spread throughout my stomach leading up into my neck and shoulders. I've never experienced anything like it! I was boiling hot and sweating like mad, which is really unusual for me, even when doing physical tasks I rarely break out in a sweat! My baby hasn't been as active today although I've been super busy and stressed to my limit, I also have an anterior placenta so unless baby is in certain positions it's difficult to monitor movements however I am now starting to notice regular patterns, which has been a-bit off this evening! But I don't know if this is because I was concentrating more on managing my pain, and discomfort than monitoring baby, he did move a few times throughout that hour so I don't think this would be classed as reduced movement?
I was just wondering if anyone else has experienced similar, or have any advice? Should I go get checked out tonight? The pain and ache has eased off but isn't completely gone.

Could this be braxton hicks ? I experienced a small amount of them when pregnant with my daughter but can't really remember what they felt like after having full blown contractions! I'm sure hicks are supposed to come and go and not cause any real issues?

Would it be unreasonable to go and get checked out for this even though it's slowly improving ? Any advice greatly appreciated

Thanks for reading btw I'm 28 weeks xx

It doesn't sound like braxton hicks. No idea to be honest. There's loads of weird stuff and aches and pains that happen during pregnancy isn't there? If course it could also be somethung unrelated to pregnancy. I guess if you weren't pregnant then you'd pass it off as just one if those things.

If it's worrying you though, I'd say get checked out.

100% not unreasonable to go in.

You don't feel right and you're worried. Take your notes and present yourself at maternity triage.

Leave an overnight bag in the car (you'll not need it but take it anyway)

Maternity would ALWAYS rather check you over than say "ignore it"

Go to ADAU but your symptoms do seem like an ulcer. Ulcers can often get worse with milk after a while and the sweating etc could be related.

How are you today @LilliesMummyx ?

Milk/dairy is an outdated solution to excess acid or heartburn. The additional dairy causes your body to produce more acids to digest it so any relief is only temporary.

You're much better off with gaviscon (you can get it prescribed if cost is a concern) either liquid or tablets

Same answer as PP drinking milk yo ease heartburn isnt really a good idea if you drink too much and it sounds like you have you actually make it 10× worse than what it was. Of course you can go get checked out if your really worried but it doesn't sound like it's anything to do with the baby..

Monitoring movement can be hard also when something else is on your mind so that could also be why you havnt felt babu as much xx
