What car to get after a Fiat 500?

I love my Fiat 500 but it's too small for having a baby. I'm after recommendations of reliable cars. I have about 6k to spend. Preferably with Aircon and I did like Bluetooth and me

I love Kias. Anything from the 2013 remodel onwards - a Rio or Ceed are a good size, without jumping to SUV size. I have a 5 door Rio and had 4 teenage boys, 6 school bags, me, and a bag of shopping in mine today, so it would more than cope with a baby, pushchair, and more!

I have two children (2 and 4) and have a Nissan note. It's not the most glamorous vehicle, seems to be favoured by the elderly mainly, but it's brilliant and so spacious for a small car. I've got two big Joie car seats in the back, and there's still plenty of room. Boot is a really good size and so is the front, the doors open all the way out too. Mine has sat nav, Bluetooth, air con etc.

I need to get rid of it as I'm having a third baby, but I'll be sorry to see it go.

The biggest feasible car you can afford!!

Thanks for replies. I quite like the look of the Kia Rio but not sure if it would fit two car seats in the back?

Are you looking to pay 6k for the car or for a deposit? I have a fiat Tipo and really like it, and it's got loads of space!

6k to spend in total, really don't want to go down the finance route. Don't mind getting an older car as obviously my budget isn't huge. Just need one that could fit two small children and a pram in and shopping but I don't want something absolutely huge if I can help it.

We have a 13 plate Ford Fiesta. No idea the price range but it’s been very reliable and a dream to drive. Happily fits two kids and some shopping in the back & a pram in the boot (plus shopping if you are talking stroller, not much room left if you mean travel system).

mistermagpie · 13/10/2019 13:14

Mine can fit a double buggy in the boot no bother and I just put the shopping on the passenger seat usually!

ChocolateTea · 13/10/2019 18:33

My 17 plate Rio has isofix and can get 2 forward facing car seats no problem. Not sure about 2 rearfacing, that depends on the length of the leg of the driver! Can definitely do one rearfacing and one forward facing

Thanks, Chocolatetea can you get a pram in the boot ok?

Got a Nissan Note as well, for 6 grand you could get a fairly recent one. It's good bang for your buck, lots of "features", and the best thing is the boot which is "boxy" so more spacious than you'd expect, plus you can slide the rear seats back and forth to increase or decrease boot space. Not an exciting ride by any means but it'll do nicely as long as you don't have more than 2 kids!

I can see why the Nissan Note is popular, it sounds very practical from the reviews, just not sure I like the shape of it.

We have recently just bought a Hyundai ix35 premium 13 plate (its amazing) we got ours for £7,800 but from a car dealer I bought my last car from. I've seen them on auto trader much cheaper! The boot is massive, we have a greyhound and a little one on the way. X
