Just looked at my legs and realised how swollen they have suddenly become. My BP and urine was checked last week and all fine. Is the swollen legs normal or should I be worried?

OP am no medic but I think it can be normal but also a sign of pre eclampsia. Is it sudden? If so maybe flag with MW?

It may not be anything to worry about but I'll share my story from 2015.

Friday I was checked urine and bp. All fine. 36 weeks. Sunday 2 days later they swelled from ankle to hip both legs. Tuesday started being sick. Rang midwife who didn't want to know. Phoned gp who says get to a&e asap. Thursday was in a&e high BP. Ended up with serious preeclampsia. Baby was induced and born the saturday. Then they found the accreta which explained the severe rib pain from 22 weeks.

You may not need to worry but im glad I did. Please ask your midwife and don't be fobbed off like they tried with me.

I had horrendous swelling in my legs from 32 weeks. It was because I was stood up all day. I went on mat leave at 35 weeks and elevated my legs constantly which made a huge difference. The swelling came back with a vengeance after birth. I couldn't get my shoes on or even kneel down for a week.

If you press on the swelling, does it leave a dent? If it does I would give the midwife a call just to get your BP checked again. I’m another one with a normal BP at midwife appointment and the admitted with preeclampsia at 36 weeks 3 days later ....

Any doubts and you need to have them checked out. You have an instinct for a reason.
