Question about Home visit from midwife at 36 weeks

I’ve got the midwife coming out for a home visit tomorrow. With DS I went into labour before they got round to a home visit so I’m just wondering whether it’ll be going over the same thing in clinic but just at home instead?

I go to the hospital twice weekly for blood pressure checks and I’ve been struck down with a horrendous cold (feeling very sorry for myself at the minute!). I’m due to go in to get it checked tomorrow morning but because I’ve been so poorly I’m not sure I’ll be up to going. The last few bp checks have all been fine so I’m thinking if the midwife checks my bp at the home visit and it’s fine then I can leave having it monitored for the hour and a half it’s usually monitored for?

I may feel better in the morning it’s just I’m so run down and I’ve coughed that much I’ve wet myself countless times and given myself a terrible headache, I can’t think of anything worse than taking my germs to the hospital! I know it’s just a cold I have but I feel like I’ve been hit by a bus.
Sorry for rambling on!

At 36 weeks they'll want to go through your birth plan and other discussions, do you mean your body check after that is an hour and a half later or are they monitoring for an hour and a half? If the former then you could prob cancel the appointment, but ask the mw when they arrive.

@Yukka I have the blood pressure check first at 8.30 then the midwife is coming to mine at 12. I’m just thinking if she checks my blood pressure then it would save a journey I don’t have the energy to make if I don’t need to. I’d be monitored again on Thursday anyway. They usually put me on the ctg monitors but I’m happy with baby’s movements anyway

Well if your not feeling well in the morning then getting up and travelling prob won't help! Perhaps call them and tell them midwife is coming anyway as they won't have known that when appointment was made, and you'll see them Thursday x
