So I thought I would come here as everyone has experience, but I found out a few days ago that I am pregnant, but at only 24 I still feel like a child!
My mum isn't the most supportive, but my brother, his wife, my boyfriend and his family have been so kind!!
But I'm just scared that I won't be able to do it!
Any tips and tricks for feeling a little more confident? Blush

Go with the flow! Don’t make any hard or fast decisions or decide what parent you’re going to be, that depends on your child and the day or the hour or the minute

Congratulations Smile

I was 32 when I found out I was having my first and I didn't not feel like a mum until he was probably 6 months old. Sometimes I still feel like I'm winging it and he's 3, going to school next September!

In my opninion, the most important thing is that you do your best to do right by them.

You've started off well by being part of Mumsnet, I have found the parenting threads to be most supportive and informative! Smile

Take every day as it comes

Remember that people have kids and manage much much younger than you

Whether you’re 16 or 40, you’ll feel nervous!

How is your life? In terms of job, housing to provide for the child. If that part of you life is in order then that is the most important thing right now.

Honestly any first time mum is scared/nervous because you are going on to the unknown, we all felt it.

I think it’s important not to get set ideas on what it will be like as every pregnancy is different and babies kind of do want the want so you have to just go with it.

Have you started taking your folic acid?

Look up the nhs website for info on what you should avoid eating etc

So my job life is amazing! That company I work for are very supportive! I've got my doctors appointment next week to start getting everything I need! (I only found out my going to the doctors regarding my knees, needed an X-ray that I can't have now 😂 bit of a shock really!)
But it's nice to have people already being so supportive! Thanks so much guys!

Have a look in here for the ante natal group of your birth month, lots of others at the same stage of pregnancy, some first timers and some fifth. I made life long friends IRL through my first MN group.
