Buying For Twins

Hi Guys,
I am expecting twins early next year and I was just wondering, those with twins, did you buy two of everything? I.e. Moses baskets, bouncy chair, cots etc.
And does anyone have any top tips on things which you couldn't have lived without with twins?

I don't want to buy loads of stuff when it probably isn't needed. Thank you

I already have a 2 year old, so have some baby stuff already, and am now 33 weeks with twins. Trying to avoid buying two of everything, but...

Moses baskets - yes, if you intend to use them (not everyone does), you need one each - the safe sleeping guidelines say you shouldn't have two babies in one.

Bouncy chairs - yes, from my experience with DD, they are one of the most useful baby products there is, so well worth having one each!

Cots - until the babies can roll, you can put both twins in one if you want. However, we're going with one each from the start because we plan to use breathing sensor pads, and if both twins were in the same cot then we'd potentially get false results from it.

Stuff like baby gyms and jumperoos, we're planning to make do with one and they can take turns.

Obviously I can't yet comment myself on "things you couldn't have lived without with twins", but we've bought a twin feeding cushion after hearing lots of other twin parents say they're invaluable!

I'm also expecting twins. We haven't bought any of the big stuff yet but PLAN to get:

2 x cots
2 x bouncy chairs (you'll need to put them both down somewhere safe at some point or you'l go mad!)
1 x Chicco Next2Me to begin with, with a view to getting a second one if needed

I don't think we'll be putting our babies in moses baskets as we intend to have them sleep in bassinets in the pram downstairs during the day.

Thank you both. Similar to what I was thinking, so at least it put my mind at rest, they I'm going the right way 😃

You will need two of everything. Mine shared a cot until about 8 weeks.

Congrats! I second the two of everything with the big stuff - definitely two bouncy chairs, Moses baskets, highchairs etc. I also had two jumperoos - took up a lot of room but worth it for us when they got a little bigger and I needed to stick a wash on etc. I used Moses baskets first, then put both in one cot with a divider in the middle (so they could both go feet to foot - they never actually touched each other). However my twins were very early and incredibly small so I got far more use out of this than others probably would. I highly highly recommend the shnuggle baby bath, it's one of my couldn't live without items & my mountain buggy duet pram (so glad my partner persuaded me to get this over the "cute" bugaboo one - it's been super practical, never got stuck anywhere and can fit through most single doors). I swore I wouldn't give into the two of everything thing, but some things just make like a lot easier for everyone involved! Good luck everyone - twins are awesome Grin

Congratulations!
Our twins are now almost two and a half. They had a Moses basket each for day time naps but shared a cot until 7months old (and one started rolling!)
Two bouncers yes
One jumperoo/playmat

My twins are now 6 but early on whilst u need 2 of basic things like cots, bouncy chairs etc I just had one play mat, jumperoo, door bouncer etc and rotated them. We didn't have Moses baskets but they shared an arms reach co sleeper and slept in the mountain buggy carry cots downstairs.
