Warming cooled boiled water

This may seem like a stupid question..

Can I boil water and let it cool in the bottle while out then put it in the tommee tippee bottle warmer before adding the powder to heat it back up?

The water has to be just boiled (ie super hot) in order to kill the bacteria in the formula milk. It’s not about boiling it to make the water sterile in itself. When you’re out and about the safest thing to do is use ready made cartons.

Does the warmer heat the water to above 70c? That is what is needed to kill any bacteria in the formula like PP said. Ready made formula is a good option but my DS didn't like it (even though is was the same brand as his powder). Another option is to use a shot of hot water and mix the formula in that and then add cooled boiled water. I used to do this when out and about, it's a bit like copying the perfect prep machine.

Same as PP, I take a thermos bottle of boiled water, put a shot of that in sterilised empty bottle, add powder, shake, then top up with cooled boiled water. So many of my friends do this too as it's so easy, cheaper than ready made and again, as PP, my DD doesn't like the ready made stuff.

I wish I could use the ready made bottles but unfortunately you can't get it in reflux milk 😔 I had been buying sterilise water but it's very expensive as 2 bottles are needed to make up one bottle 😔

Boil the water and stick it in a flask. Thats how ive been making bottles on the go. They are always fresh then x

What I do is get a flask put the boiled water in there, then put the formula in a tub you can get special tubs for baby milk and make it up when I'm out

You don’t need to sterilise the water, it’s the formula that needs boiling water to kill any bacteria and bugs that can be found in powdered milk from the processing.

I saw SO many mums at baby classes using cool boiled water to make formula! I was always torn between being ‘that mum’ and telling them it wasn’t going to kill the bacteria and leaving it..

I put boiling water in a thermos flask and it stayed red hot for a good 2/3 hours! Cafes will give you boiling water for milk I found.. you don’t need loads, bit like machine, a decent shot of boiling water, swirl around and then you can top up with sterile water!
