I'm 40+1 with my third baby. I've never been induced however because I didn't find out until later on in pregnancy that I was infact pregnant and my baby is measuring above the 95th centile, they believe I may be further gone than anticipated!
I had a sweep which was unsuccessful, but I was told I was 2cm dilated. So when I go for my induction this afternoon, i will more than likely have my waters broken. After having my 2 girls naturally and very quick may I add. I'm just wondering if anybody has any positive induction stories to calm my nerves, or any advice at all?

My advice is have the epidural put in before the induction drip! They whack that thing up a stage every half an hour and it's very painful because of it being unnatural (obvs I can't say more painful because I have nothibg to compare it to!)
You may not need a drip though if they break your waters and that may be enough to get things going. Remember to stay as calm as you can, pack snacks, be prepared to wait quite a while as well. But mostly, good luck and know you'll be fine!

Both my children were induced , so I don't know any other way ! I had my waters broken and then the IV drip. The contractions came on pretty quickly after the drips were put in, and the pains were quite intense . Both my babies were born naturally , about 4 hours after the commencement of the induction, so I was happy with that. Good luck with your induction - I'm sure you'll be fine.

I was induced at 39 weeks, 1cm when they put the pessary in then 2cm for ages before suddenly being ready to push. My waters were broken manually and I didn't have the drip as they said it would be "cruel" to do so without an epidural (their word) as I was already contacting like crazy and there was no anaesthetist available. I was less than 10 hours from pessary to baby, about 15 minutes pushing. Good luck, I hope it all goes well!

Inducted with both my babies and both super positive! Couldn't ask for a better more calm birth experience both times.

With DS2 once labour established he was here within 36 mins. Took me 30
Mins to get from 4cm-10cm then 6 mins of pushing and he was here
