Long haul flight in early pregnancy

Hi all,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips really!

We're off on a pre-planned holiday next week, and I will be 7 weeks when we fly out and 9 on the way home.

Luckily we are splitting the flight (so 7hrs & 10hrs) which will give me a break in between.

Ive got an appointment with a nurse anyway this week, so will ask then... But thought you ladies might be able to share some words of wisdom!

You will be fine at that stage. Main issues could be nausea/sickness and smell sensitivity, perhaps take some aromatherapy oils or something nice to smell, plus snacks etc to relieve any nausea. If you are weeing more than usual an aisle seat will mean it is easy to get up and down as often as you need to.

You'll be fine. I did it. Buy some DVT socks and move around a lot as the risk of DVT increases in pregnancy. And definitely the aromatherapy oils - the smell on a flight in the first trimester made me feel so grim. Have a great holiday! x

I did a long haul flight at those dates and were perfectly fine. Wore dvt socks just in case. The worst bit was definitely nausea - having to land in the storm in UK was experience of a lifetime!

I agree with taking snacks. I was STARVING all the time at that stage of pregnancy.

Thanks everyone... Ill stock up on snacks and buy some of those socks!
