Hi

We've just purchased the mamas and papas flip xt2 as it has really good reviews. It has a brilliant saving on it at the moment and I fell in love with the look of it if I'm honest!

No help on the pram you talk about but I think the best thing is to first think about what is important for you, ie basket space, interchangeable seats, does it fit in your car.
Find some that have what you need and others that have the extras you'd like.
I don't think you need a super expensive pram. I had a hand me down from family for my first child and that wasn't expensive when originally purchased and still worked perfectly when we got it.
Our issue was more it wasn't the right size for our boot so after a few months we moved to a collapsible buggy that could be used from birth.
I know so many people who have spent £800-£1000 on prams and travel systems and they've used them for about 10 months which to me seems a lot of money for limited use.

If your going to use your pram alot go walking etc then get the one u want, ive gotten a bugaboo as loved my last one but i go walking at least 5x a week and i dont drive so i do get expensive prams & use them until they are over 2years old. Im not a fan of the mama and papas prams but if i were u id go try out prams and see what one is best for u.

I got the panorama from Smyths. The best thing I have ever bought! Not too expensive and I love it

Find the pram that fits your requirements and buy second hand. Pennies go a lot longer that way.

I bought the sola(which they don't do any more) and we've had it for 3 years. It's still in great condition although the wheels are threadbare but that's because we used it so much. I'd buy another if I had another child.

Ultimately I would get a good quality one (they tend to last better), but also make sure it suits your lifestyle. If you don't have a car, is it easy to fold up and down on the bus, or can it fit in the car with a few bags of shopping etc. Also how big is the basket on the bottom?. Mine can get a couple of bags of shopping in, which works perfectly. Will it suit the child from birth to toddler, so maybe try and avoid cream or baby blue/pink etc. We've got a dark denim one and the colour works well. If your planning on future children, will you be able to use it for that child?.

Try not to get anything too heavy, trust me toddlers weigh a bloody tonne, especially going uphill!!.

I've got the mamas and papas flip xt2. It's alright and I do like it. It's easy to fold and the basket is nice and big. However, it's quite heavy and quite big. Also the pram hood doesn't provide much cover/shade/darkness even when pulled as far as it will go, which was so annoying in the newborn stage when I was out walking all the time in all weathers. If I was buying a pram again now I'd probably go for a bugaboo bee or an iCandy. I'd also buy second hand as prams are so expensive!

We've bought a second hand flip xt2. Mamas and papas do a valet/mot for older prams so they'll take it apart, thoroughly clean, make repairs, replace parts etc. We're going for the full service which is £75 but will still have taken the cost of travel system below £200!
They also do parents to be events where they'll give you goody bags, snacks, and demonstrate any pram you want, including letting you try it out in your car! We went to one and that's how we chose the flip xt2, but actually bought it second hand x

@CAG12Where do you live OP? There is a mamas and papas factory outlet in Huddersfield, we’ll just outside of close to junction 25 of m62.

We got the Sola2 (see link) www.mamasandpapas.com/en-gb/sola-grey-marl/p/5492462w1?source=aw&utm_source=awin&utm_medium=affiliate&utm_campaign=Genie+Shopping&awc=6526_1569662334_adfae81994c44e1103bbe699bab3a178 but in purple for £79 from there!

It was an ex display model but perfect brand new condition. They normally have about 20 in stock, a lot are returns within the cooling off period or ones that had an issue so we’re sent to be fixed etc.

I wouldn’t have paid full price for it... but for £79 couldn’t complain!

If you are close by to it... it’s worth a look. They have a Facebook site Mamas and Papas UK (factory shop)

Buy second hand you will save a fortune. Remember not to buy car seat and mattresses and everything else is good.

kazza446 · 28/09/2019 10:30

I loved my M&P armadillo pram. It wasn’t the most beautiful looking pram but was so easy to push and manage. I went to the factory shop in Huddersfield and bought it there for £100 less than rrp. I sold it on once my ds started walking. I could have sold it 3x over and got a decent price for it. M&P after sales is very good too x
