27+5 bleeding

At my 20 week scan I was told I had a subchorionic hematoma. A week and a half a go I saw a tiny bit of dark brown blood on the tissue when I I wiped before I went to bed. Phoned MAU and was told to wait overnight, if still there in the morning to go in. Went in the following morning, everything was fine and doc said bleeding was due to the SCH.

This evening I saw bright red blood on the tissue, quite a bit. Phoned MAU and was told to wait and hour. The blood has turned pinkish brown and there's not much of it at all. I called back and the midwife said not to worry, no need to come in.

When I had DC1 (at a different hospital) I was brought in for any little worry I had and would definitely have been brought in straight away for monitoring after bleeding.

Not sure why I'm posting. Just worried and after some reassurance I guess. Anyone else had a similar experience? Wish she'd just said I could go in to check the the baby is ok.

Forgot to say, the midwife this evening said it's probably bleeding because of the SCH.

Sorry to say this but "probably because" wouldn't be good enough for me. I would want them to check and confirm all is fine with the baby. Fingers crossed all is fine and there is no need to worry

Go and get checked. Even if it's a waste of time.

Thank you for replying! Been refreshing this thread like a mad women! I feel the same way tbh but so well trained not to question authority. Can I insist I go in?

Should add the bleeding has completely stopped now and I've felt the baby moving loads.

Apparently a lot more women bleed occasionally throughout pregnancy than most people think, however SCH i’d check it out even just for peace of mind. Fingers crossed for you OP x

So glad to hear it's stopped. ThanksThanksThanksNever feel embarrassed to ask. It's your baby and no one else's. Midwifes are fantastic but mother is in charge.

I have a SCH, I’m 25 weeks and after a scan last week, it looks as though it’s solidifying and shrinking but there was a period where I went in every day for 6 days.

I’ve been told to go in for every fresh new bleed, even if I was in the day before, and that I’ll be kept in for 24hr each time for observations now.

Push harder to get them to see you!

Thanks for advice yesterday and today. Saw the midwife and she's happy that DD is ok. Heard her heart beating. X

Hi all.
I had a scan yesterday (13+6) and was told baby had a 3.5mm Nuchal reading and 2 x 9mm cystic hygroma.
I’m absolutely terrified and don’t know what to expect. I’m 41yrs old and am going for NIPT blood tests tomorrow.
What do I do next? What should I expect? The research is bleak so we’d to steel myself.
Any advice/experiences would really help x

Hi @Sarahlou123456,

Sorry you've had some news that's made you worry after your scan. I'm afraid I don't know about nuchal readings but wanted to suggest you start a new thread. You might get more responses and so more help/support. You've posted this on an old thread of mine and so the only people that are likely to see it will be the people who replied to my post about bleeding.

Wish you and baby all the best x
