Sex to induce labour success stories?!

Hi all just wondering if the old wives tale of sex to induce labour has actually ever worked for anyone?! I am aware of the biology bit, the prostaglandin and the oxytocin etc but just wondering if anyone has any real life success stories to convince me further. I’m currently in 39+3 and pretty fed up, but also feel like a small orca whale and sex with my long suffering DH isn’t all that appealing at present lol just because I feel so big and awkward! Wondering if anyone can convince me it will be worth it to get things going!

Nothing worked for me and I tried everything...

I've just mentioned this all to dh, he seems keen to try the digestion route tonight, me not so much.
I'm 39+0 and want to avoid going too far overdue. I've been bouncing on my ball, doing housework including on the floor in the bathrooms.
Last time I had dd at 37+4 and had been hand washing the floors in the days leading up to it.
I don't know if I have it in me to dtd, my hips are agony and my bits are so swollen, but maybe it's worth a try as long as dh understands the state of it down there!

Never worked for me. Neither did
Pineapple
Castor oil
Hot bath
Long walk
Curry
Nothing worked

Worked a bit for me, 2 weeks early waters broke 5 hours later.
My contractions didn’t start so had an induction 24 hours later

It did work for us. DH was incredibly proud of himself.

I was 40+11, about to be induced the following day, and i told DH he was going to get me out of this mess seeing as he got me into it. That was about 4pm. At 10pm we went to the hospital and DD was born at 5am the next day

I had sex the night before I had baby, who came 4 weeks early. I'd had no other symptoms but as soon as we had finished, I knew I would go into labour. No pain or anything, but like he had given waters a nudge.

Four hours later my waters went.

Worked for me. Went into full blown labour during sex!

Your mistake was mentioning it to him

Hasn't worked for me yet, some slight pink tinged mucus afterward but no labour

I'm like a beached whale and I feel sorry on poor dh

@cushioncovers yes, in my pregnant state after laughing hysterically he asked what was funny and my mouth started talking before thinking! I've told him no to digesting anything other than food, I've also prewarned him about the state of my beached whale body and that it won't be pleasant if he wants to dtd.
We shall see, maybe it'll be curry later this week too!

Haha i have so enjoyed reading all of these! Looks like lots of people think it works suppose it’s like any of the other things they say gets you going, we’ll never know for sure but might be worth a try! Almost feel sorry for DH though as I feel like it’ll be a challenge given the state of me at present 😂
