Hi all im 29 weeks pregnant so well past any further testing I think but I was looking at my notes today and came across the nt result of 2.60 mm and googled it 😑 my risk is 1 in 252 I assume because of my age 37 in my pregnancy at 34 it was like 1 in 2000 and something not sure what the nt was then though. Is that 2.60mm too high I was 13 weeks and 6 days at the time no one else has raised concerns but I'm now concerned. Could issues have been spotted at anomaly scans I've had two plus one growth scan baby is measuring two weeks ahead around their tummy and one week ahead for head size of everything else is within normal range. Any one had similar numbers

I was 36 first time. NT was 3.2 and combined score was something like 1:110 I think. My trust though offers Harmony to anyone at 1:500 or higher so I had that which came back at 1:10,000 and DS was fine.

My NT was 2.9 and my downs risk was low according to the combined test. Can't remember the exact result but it was like 1 in 9000.
You say you googled it but do you have your combined result that you should've received after having the blood test?
I'm sure if there were concerns they would've been raised with you.

Why not ask your midwife or obstetrician for an interpretation of your specific results? Probably better than terrifying yourself with internet responses.

Doraismissing · 24/09/2019 08:51

Or you could think of the results as 251 in 252 that the baby doesn't have Downs Syndrome

I had a 1 in 4 result with DD1. All fine.

Hi thanks for reply I'm hoping for another consultant appointment so will bring it up then according to my trust the higher risk cut off is 1 in 150 so my risk is lower by over 100 but it just concerned me with the higher nt x

You have based your 1:252 on a google search? As others have said risk it is not based on nuchal alone. It’s a combination of age, blood test etc. You are sensible to discuss this with your consultant. However given you have also had a 20week scan and nothing was of concern I have no doubt he or she will reassure you

Did they see a defined nose bridge during the scan (or can you see it?). If so the risk might have been determined to be lower which is why it wasn’t raised. A long and clear white line where the nose bridge should be offsets the risk signficantly if you are white as a fetus with DS doesn’t tend to develop one as early.
