Itch Down There

Sorry if this is TMI. I am 15 weeks pregnant. Have been to the doctor a couple of weeks ago demented with an itch down below.

She swabbed and gave me an internal & external canestan, provided relief for about a day. The swab came back clear so the consultant has said it's probably not thrush hence the canestan not working. I've just been using vagisil since which works sometimes.

This is keeping me awake at night it's just awful, wondering if anyone else has had similar or any suggestions? Thanks

Is your underwear too tight. That’s what caused the same problem for me. Buying cotton underwear a few sizes bigger (I got 3 sizes bigger) and using and changing panty liners a few times a day might help (don’t buy fragranced ones or use soap down there).
The canesten feminine wash is good too. Also periods of no underwear helps especially at night

@March2020Baby totally agree with everything @Suki84 says they pretty much what I was told when u had simular. Underwear that wasn’t tight (I lived in thongs so had to stop wearing them). No scented soaps or heavily scented washing powders. Not sure if you are still having sex but was a potential agrevator for me. And again as above when I was home wearing no knickers helped the most

@Suki84 @kellyw1989 thank you for the advice. Did you use any creams or just nothing? I can be fine for a while and then as soon as I go to the toilet it is absolutely crazy the itch, has brought me to tears a few times. My urine has came back clear too but just hope it's not something that is going to last the whole way through.

The canesten cream and the canesfresh feminine wash. But I think what worked best for me was just wearing a long t shirt to bed with no bottoms or underwear ( I noticed a difference straightaway). It didn’t last throughout my pregnancy got better towards the end. Hope you find something that works. It’s hard enough trying to sleep whilst pregnant.

@Suki84 @March2020Baby I used the feminine wash 2/3 times a day, and used canesten on the flare ups. Like suki couldn’t Agree more my biggest relief was wearing no knickers and either pj bottoms or tracky bottoms or a long top when I could. Was a bit OMG at first but helped a lot
